The authors showed as complete a picture as possible of the impact of GI on the problems of obtaining GI in connection with Sustainable Development Goals. The authors have fulfilled their goals and made the right conclusions that will help improve the GI.

The literary review is completed, all references are given in the text.

The materials and methods are well and thoroughly described. The stated goals have been achieved.

The article contains 8 tables, 2 figures and 36 references.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Dear Authors,

The Article is quite interesting for the readers in the field of Sustainable Development Goals achievement. Nevertheless, there are some notes, which seems to be useful to revise before manuscript’s promotion.

Abstract

Abstract Section is quite comprehensive but needs to be supplemented with some statement: research object, main methods used and brand new results.

1. Introduction

It would be advisable to expand the state-of art in Geographical Indications of Sustainable Development Goals achieving, adding comprehensive literature review.

2. Dimensions of Sustainability, SDGs and GI

Tables 1 and 2, Figure 1 should be explained to show new methodological provisions, given by Authors.

3. Methodological procedures

Methods, proposed by Authors, should be justified by comparison with methodological findings of the previous researches.

Table 3 needs to be explained.

4. Results and discussion

It is advisable to summarize the results, valuable for the practice, in a separate Table at the end of this Section.

#. Discussion (absent)

In the "Discussion" section, which should be given separately, and it would be appropriate to reflect the most valuable results of the study, the obstacles encountered by the Authors, as well as the horizons of future research by the Authors, in which these obstacles will be overcome.

Good luck!

Comments on the Quality of English Language

Dear Authors,

A number of spelling, grammar and stylistic errors were noted in the Article, which should be corrected.

Good luck!

Author Response

Comment 1: Abstract Section is quite comprehensive but needs to be supplemented with some statement: research object, main methods used and brand new results.

Response 1: The abstract has been changed to include the reviewer's requests. We have highlighted the abstract in red in the attached file text.

Comment 2: It would be advisable to expand the state-of art in Geographical Indications of Sustainable Development Goals achieving, adding comprehensive literature review.

Response 2: We have strengthened the relationship between GIs and the economic, social and environmental dimensions. We have also added references to support the arguments. The additions are highlighted in red in the attached file.

Comment 3: Tables 1 and 2, Figure 1 should be explained to show new methodological provisions, given by Authors.

Response 3: A paragraph was added (highlighted in red in the attached text) comparing the aspects of Table 1 (SEBRAE methodology) with the aspects of Table 2 (authors' proposal). Figure 1 was also better broken down, as per the reviewer's guidance.

Comment 4:

Methods, proposed by Authors, should be justified by comparison with methodological findings of the previous researches. Table 3 needs to be explained.

Response 4: A paragraph was added after Table 3, demonstrating the main findings of some previous studies on the topic under discussion. It is important to emphasize that the methodology used in this study is an adaptation of EMBRAPA's impact methodology (economic, social and environmental).

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

I want to thank the authors for their scientific efforts. The topic is meaningful, and the readers will find it very interesting. Therefore, in my view, this paper can be accepted, but it has to be improved to meet the requirement of Fire with a major revision and some clarification on raised comments before publication.

General Comments:

English grammar, sentence framing, and lengthy sentences must be checked and modified throughout the manuscript.

Abstract

Point 1: The current abstract need to be improved English grammar.

Point 2: Suggestions for improvement:

-          The abstract could be more specific. I suggest the authors organize the abstract as well as the main text into five sections, namely: scope, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

-          The authors state the objective twice in the abstract, phrased in two different ways. Please rephrase this to present a single, clear objective. Additionally, the abstract should be completed with the study's key findings.

-          Please include the period covered in your evaluation of the economic, social, environmental, and institutional impacts of the Geographical Indication (GI) and Indication of Origin (IO) of the samples taken. (For ex: specify whether the data covers 5 years, 10 years….).

Point 3:

-          Key words: Please try to include between 5 and 7 keywords in the abstract to enhance the discoverability of your article. These keywords should encapsulate the main themes and concepts of your study.

Introduction

The introduction can be improved by including more references, and the English grammar, sentence framing, and lengthy sentences and modified throughout the manuscript.

Point 4:

-          In the introduction chapter please focus on problems generally, based on examples in the whole World, not your study area, especially in the first paragraph.

-          Lines 36-38; you should add the reference.

-          The same remarks for the lines between 43 and 46.

Point 5: I suggest incorporating the problem addressed by the article in the specific section of the introduction.

Point 6: I suggest the authors organize the introduction as well as the main text into four

sections, namely: general, specific, methods, and objective.

Dimensions of Sustainability, SDGs, and GI

Point 7: In Table 1, there is no need to include a source at the end. However, if the table is derived from another article, the reference should be cited in the table title, not at the end. (Same remark for all tables).

Point 8: he authors should add references for the sustainability dimensions listed in Table 2

Point 9:

-          Lines 102-107; The authors should add the reference

-          The same remarks for the lines (119-125; 177-181; 189-196; 197-203)

3. Methodological procedures

Point 10: Lines 205 to 226: I suggest that the authors focus more on explaining the methodology rather than repeating the objectives, which are mentioned twice in this paragraph. Additionally, please clarify the distinction between 'primary data' and 'secondary data'.

Point 11: In Figure 2, the source should be mentioned in the figure title (For ex:  Figure 2: Proposed flow of activities for assessing GI impacts [9]).

Point 12: The authors should clarify the software and method used for data analysis.

4. Results and discussion

Point 13: The meaning of “PJ1” in line 305 should be explained.

Point 14: In the economic dimension, the authors should compare their results with other studies in the same region and beyond.

Point 15: Similar remarks apply to the social dimension. Additionally, the symbol "1º" should be explained.

Point 16: The authors should mention before the conclusion the study limitation and what are the potential impacts of this research globally, nationally, and locally?

Conclusion

Point 17: I suggest that the authors include future work in the conclusion and highlight the relevant and major findings of the study.

Please respond to all of those comments in the revised manuscript by pointing out precisely and concisely on which page and in which line you have incorporated your responses one by one.
