Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear authors,

I would advise to point out theoretical and practical implications more clearly. It is of a high importance to link the topic with sustainable tourism development at the destination, sustainability of the sites themselves, and generally show the effect of audiovisual presentation on the local tourism.

Author Response

First of all, we would like to thank Reviewer 1 for his/her comments and suggestions, which certainly have helped the authors to improve their manuscript.

The authors have addressed all the reviewer’s concerns and, specifically, those regarding the Conclusions of the manuscript. In this vein, the authors have included two paragraphs devoted to the implications of film tourism and its sustainable tourism development at the destination, the sustainability of the tourist sites, and the effect of audiovisual presentation on the local tourism (please see the last two paragraphs in the Conclusions).

Reviewer 2 Report

I would like to thank the authors for the interesting research topic. I would suggest some corrections to improve the quality of the manuscript. The title is very clear. The abstract contains all the structural elements. Reduce the number of keywords. It is an introductory part of the literature, and I suggest that it be strengthened by citing works on similar issues. The methodology is very clear and interesting, and makes it unique and different from what we are used to, which is almost always a statistical analysis of the obtained data. The results are given through tables and photos depending on the research and the desire to present the results. I suggest literature:

I suggest that the manuscript be published after corrections

Author Response

First of all, we would like to thank Reviewer 2 for his/her comments and suggestions, which certainly have helped the authors to improve their manuscript.

The authors have addressed all the reviewer’s concerns and, specifically, those relating to strengthening the introductory part of the manuscript, by citing the work suggested by the reviewer. In this vein, please see citation on page 2.

Reviewer 3 Report

The work focuses on the analysis of the production of audiovisual fiction of two emblematic Andalusian monuments, the Royal Alcazar of Seville and the Alhambra of Granada for tourism purposes. The work is extensive, mostly descriptive and factual, with some analytical insights, exclusively concentrated on the history of the two monuments. In my opinion, the work would gain if it included a section, or maybe it could be accommodated in the introduction, on audiovisual content and tourism, based on a brief literature review to contextualise. This could include images and film-induced tourism. Just a few suggestions of papers:

https://doi.org/10.33776/et.v1i2.1024

https://doi.org/10.4185/RLCS-2015-1061

https://doi.org/10.1080/10548400802092718

The idea is to start the introduction with a broad contextualization of image and film-induced tourism and the role of images, videos and films to promote destinations before you concentrate on the two monuments.

Otherwise, the paper makes a significant contribution and is in an advanced state.

Author Response

First of all, we would like to thank Reviewer 3 for his/her comments and suggestions, which certainly have helped the authors to improve their manuscript.

The authors have addressed all the reviewer’s concerns and, specifically, those relating the relevance of the works cited. In this sense, the authors have included some paragraphs in the Introduction section, contextualising the work within Film-induced Tourism Studies and incorporating the reviewer’s suggestions. Please see paragraphs 5, 6, 7 and 8 in the Introduction.
