Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In this paper, authors focused on modeling these typical strategies and discuss their solution characteristics in terms of algorithmic mechanisms and principles. The relevant results can be used for quantitative analysis and evaluation of distributed consensus based on the model. This paper investigates an interesting problem, and the structure is relative good. However, minor revisions are needed before the acceptance.

1. The PBFT is also the famous consensus algorithm, the discussion on it can be covered in the revised version.

2. How different blockchain network models (e.g., public blockchain, consortium, blockahin , or private blockchain) impact the modeling and analysis, authors can make is clearer.

3. The real world blockchain systems (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum) can be discussed for Proof-Based modeling and analysis.

4. Please add a comparison table to cover all compared Proof-Based Strategies in this paper.

5. Please go through the paper carefully and double check whether the right template are used. Correct some typos and formatting issues (e.g., “Proof of Fortune (PoL)” -> “ Proof of Luck (PoL)”).

6. Make the References more comprehensive, besides this work, some other promising scenarios can be covered in this work. If the above related work can be discussed, it can strongly improve the research significance. For the improvement, the following papers can be considered to make the references more comprehensive.

Reviewer 2 Report

1.       Authors should check Proof of Fortune (PoL),”, I hope this is “Proof of Luck (PoL) in the abstract

2.       Contents of Figures 1-3 and  Figure 4-6 are looks overlap, which might be denoted as Figure 1 (a) , Figure 1 (b), etc keep in the Figure boxes

3.       Equations 3 formulas may be separated. , same for Equation 22

4.       Overall Quality of the paper is good, and paper is well organized

5.       References format may be checked with the journal’s format, references are not in the same format. Missing some information like volume, page number Like “Saleh, F. Blockchain without waste: Proof-of-stake. Available at SSRN 3183935 2019”
