Dear authors,

The research topic is extremely important and timely in the context of agriculture in Uganda, where banana production plays an important role in the agricultural economy.

The abstract is well written and reflects the main sections of the paper, including highlighting the practical applicability of the research findings.

I also appreciate the fact that the authors chose different keywords from those in the title, which adds value to the article.

The introduction presents the research issues very well and the references cited are relevant to the Ugandan situation. However, the authors should also refer to other studies that have been done on the African continent or in other banana producing regions. In this respect, the literature review should contain relevant international studies as recently as possible.

Regarding the methodological part, the authors are kindly requested to submit the semi-structured questionnaire used as supplementary material to the article.

The data analysis methodology is correct and the results are well presented.

The main weakness of the article is the discussion part. These should be substantially improved.

Also, the section to which the authors have submitted the article is "Sustainable agriculture". However, the authors make no reference in the article to the concept of sustainable development in general or to sustainable agriculture. It is recommended that the authors find a link between the topic of the article and the topic of the journal. Otherwise, the article should be submitted to another journal.

Overall, the article is well written, but needs improvement for publication.
