I want to congratulate the author for this research and manuscript. His efforts of highlighting the need for a special type of housing in the cyclone-affected area must be appreciated. His efforts of incorporating people's opinion in to housing design is also appreciable. Although the manuscript is in a good shape, I have some suggestions for improving its scientific merits. Which are:

1. The authors claimed to ensure public participation in designing the housing prototype. The such claim would be strong if the author describe the participation process he followed while developing the design. The question remains whether the prototypes were presented/shown to the local people, and what were there opinions.

2. There a number of researches to contribute to the housing structure of the cyclone-affected area. It appeared to me the author should review some of the similar prototypes proposed by other scientists/authors

3. The Shelter Clusted of Bangladesh which was responsible for coordinating the humanitarian response after cyclone Sidr proposed a general guideline for different types of housing to be built in the Sidr/Aila affected area. That guideline and construction techniques must be reviewed and compared with the prototype proposed by the author.

4. It would be more interesting if the authors highlight the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) benefits of the prototype they have proposed

The paper is interesting and addresses an important issue. However, some comments need to be addressed.

Natural disasters are not common in disaster research. In most cases, we use the term "natural hazard" or "disaster" instead of "natural disaster."

It is necessary to revise the abstract's structure. It is not acceptable to present the abstract as it is currently structured.

It is necessary to revise lines 44 and 45. Literature indicates that floods are the most destructive natural hazards, as far as I know.

The introduction can be supported by some recent studies such as : Gharib, Z., Tavakkoli-Moghaddam, R., Bozorgi-Amiri, A., & Yazdani, M. (2022). Post-Disaster Temporary Shelters Distribution after a Large-Scale Disaster: An Integrated Model. Buildings, 12(4), 414. And Gharib, Zahra, et al. "Developing an integrated model for planning the delivery of construction materials to post-disaster reconstruction projects." Journal of Computational Design and Engineering 9.3 (2022): 1135-1156.

The figure 1 should be improved. There is a lack of clarity in the presentation of the figure.

Section 1 is too long and confusing for a reader to follow. Therefore, I suggest this section be divided into two separate sections: an introduction and a literature review. The introduction should also emphasize the study's contribution.

Section 5 is an important section, but it hasn't been presented adequately. There should be a comprehensive discussion of how this research can contribute to the resilience of communities, and how government and related organizations can facilitate disaster risk reduction management plans.

 

Please discuss how this research can be generalized to other disasters, especially natural hazards.
