Reviewer 2 Report

I would like to congratulate you on your efforts on preparation of the paper. Hybrid electric vehicles are essentially important for today's world and developing control models for energy management in these vehicles needs scientific analyses. Also, fuzzy control models are valuable, since they provide the ability to handle uncertainty within the system. In this context, the paper seems to be relevant with the popular trends in world and the aims of the journal.

Analyses presented in the study are good and sufficient for a scientific paper and the general structure of the study is well organized. I recommend an accept decision on the paper after the following modifications, which will increase the readability and presentation of the paper:

- In line 28: the word dependability means reliability. It could be better to use dependence instead of dependability.

- In line 63: A blank after [19]. is forgotten. Please correct this part as "[19]. In".

- A paragraph presenting the paper organization should be given at the end of the introduction part.

- In line 94 Fext must be written as it is in the previous equation.

- Similarly, in line 96 Ftraction, in line 97 Fr and in line 102 Faero must be corrected.

- A reference or analysis results must be provided in line 117 and 118 about the claims on the accuracy of the equation for speeds up to 128 km/h.

- Table 1 can be placed after the paragraph which contains the in text citation.

- The clause in line 149 must be checked. There is a problem with the sentence.

- Some references must be provided about GA in lines around 185.

- There are some problems with the place of Table 3 and Figure 4. These two items must be checked.

- In line 251: please correct the sentence as "equal to "1"", instead of equal 1.

- Pseudo code for the GA given between lines 267 and 280 could be presented in a more appropriate form. Please review some papers about the presentation of pseudo codes of such algorithms.

- There is a problem about Figure 6. Please check the figure.

- Caption of Figure 7 must be corrrected.

- In line 318 an abbrevation as FP is provided. In figure 8, an abbrevation as PF is used. I think they indicate the same thing. Please check the inconsistency of this part.

- In line 326 please correct the word "figure" as "Figure".

- It could be better if a table of nonclemanture is provided with the paper. I think it can improve the readibility of the paper.

- Please provide a response to authors document with the revised form of the paper.

All authors would like to thank you for providing valuable comments and remarks that contributed significantly in enhancing paper quality and format.

Q- In line 28: the word dependability means reliability. It could be better to use dependence instead of dependability.

A: Indeed, you are right. The word “dependability” is replaced by dependence as suggested. Thank you for your interesting remark.

Q- In line 63: A blank after [19]. is forgotten. Please correct this part as "[19]. In".

A:  Thank you for your exact remark. Your valuable remark is taken into consideration in the current version of the manuscript.

Q- A paragraph presenting the paper organization should be given at the end of the introduction part.

A: Thank you for your pertinent remark.  A paragraph is added to the introduction  (line 92 to 101) to explain better the organization of the paper.

Q- In line 94 Fext must be written as it is in the previous equation.

A: Thank you for your good remark. Fext is written conveniently in the revised version of the manuscript.

Q- Similarly, in line 96 Ftraction, in line 97 Fr and in line 102 Faero must be corrected.

A: Indeed, you are right. The issues raised in your comment have been taken into consideration in the present version of the paper. Thank you for your interesting remarks.

Q- A reference or analysis results must be provided in line 117 and 118 about the claims on the accuracy of the equation for speeds up to 128 km/h.

A: Thank you for your remark. A reference was added to the sentence that that claims the occurancy of the equation for speeds up to 128km/h .

Q- Table 1 can be placed after the paragraph which contains the in text citation.

A: Thank you for your interesting comment. Table 1 is placed just below its first citation in the text.

Q- The clause in line 149 must be checked. There is a problem with the sentence.

A: Thank you for your valuable comment. The sentence was corrected in the current version of the manuscript.

Q- Some references must be provided about GA in lines around 185.

Reviewer 3 Report

The article under review presents the results of studies of the power energy management strategy in the drive of a battery-super capacitor hybrid electric vehicle proposed by the authors. The results of the presented research can be useful to a wide range of readers - scientists and practitioners, specialists in the field of electric vehicle control systems.

In the Introduction and the literature review, the prerequisites for conducting research are considered in sufficient volume, and the purpose of the work is formulated. In the main parts of the paper, a short description of the dynamics of the electric vehicle movement, and a short description of the principle of direct torque control of a synchronous electric machine are provided. A description of the power management algorithm proposed by the authors is also given. The results of simulation and research in real-time using the OPAL-RT LAB simulator. are presented.

During the review, I was left with a few questions and I drew attention to the following shortcomings, the correction of which would improve the quality of the article:

  1. The paper requires references to the source from which expressions (4) and (6) and explanations of the coefficients 0.5, 0.01 and 160 in them are taken.
  2. In line 42 of the paper, the abbreviation DTC (Direct Torque Control) is first encountered, but this abbreviation was not indicated earlier in the article. This should be corrected for the convenience of readers.
  3. I think the authors should supplement the paper with a simulation model scheme and its description implemented in MatLab.
  4. In my version of the paper, figure 4 overlapped on top of table 3. This needs to be corrected, as does the placement of figure 6. Figure 15 is essentially clear, but looks strange.
