Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The article will be acepted at the first step, but I think that will be good for it to included some references about theme, that we can find in the same context (Spiain), for example Rodríguez and Azanr RIED journal, or Marín, Vega and Sampedro or Ruiz, Sanchez and Trujillo.

This pont is very importat because we can stablished relations between similar context and think if necesary to create some lines to work

Author Response

According to their review.

We have introduced the references of: Romero Rodriguez and Aznar RIED journal (line 265), and Marín, Vega and Sampedro RED (line 263).

Reviewer 2 Report

Teorical part:
the article is relevant to the research community, give a good perspective abourt what's happend beteween the joung people and the smarthphone. But I thik the autors uses "mobil phone " to much, the must combine the terms "Smartphone" and "mobil phone"
I suggest to includ the dates about Spain that they can get in International Telecommunication Union (2019) too.

Methd part:
In participants parte the authors said "The sample was recruited through probabilistic 106 intentional sampling, this enabled us to select accessible cases who agreed to be included in the study" I considered the must included some references to garantee the selecction, Isugegeest Mantilla 12015 (Mantilla, F. (2015). Métodos Estadísticos Exploratorios y Confirmatorios para Análisis de Datos. Ecuador: ESPE), for example.
About the content validity, I like to know about the expert, for example gender, age, work are, etc.
Must review the sociodemographic text, because sometime uses "gender" and other used "sex" (view table 2, and lines: 91, 107, 198, 207).

Discussion part:
I aspect that are not compare with other research, for example parragraph 253-259. I'll included or compre with Marín, Vega & Sampedro (2018) (Marín Díaz, V., Vega Gea, E., & Sampedro Requena, B. (2018). Uso problemático del Smartphone en estudiantes universitarios. Revista Española de Drogodependencias, 43(1), 62-76) and Marín, Vega & Passey (2019) (124. Marín Díaz, V., Vega Gea, E., & Passey, D. (2019). Determination of problematic use of social networks by university students. RIED, 22(12), 135-152. doi: https://doi.org/10.5944/ried.22.2.23289) and Romero & Aznar 2019) (Romero Rodríguez, J. M., & Aznar Díaz, I. (2019). Análisis de la adicción al smartphone en estudiantes universitarios. Revista De Educación a Distancia, 19(60). https://doi.org/10.6018/red/60/08). This references have similar research context and the author can do some somparasion, and address to made some aspects new to research in this population.

Finally, with respect bibliografy we suggest to included this reference: http://www.uco.es/ucopress/ojs/index.php/edmetic/article/view/12195, and it's necesary that review because do not respect all the journal's rules (abbreviated title)

Author Response

According to their review.

We have alternated the term Smartphone.

We have updated the data about Spain (line 43)

In the explanation of the sampling we have introduced the reference of: Mantilla, 2015.

We have described the origin of the experts involved in content validation (line 132-133)

We use only the term gender.

In the discussion we have introduced comparison with data from Marín, Vega and Sampedro RED, Marín, Vega & Passey (2019), Romero and Aznar (2019) (lines 263-265).

We have introduced the reference of Moreno, J.; López, J.; Pozo, S.; Fuentes, A. (line 382).

Reviewer 3 Report

This paper has good scores in terms of the statistics, making the findings sound. The educational and wider societal use of mobile phones and the Internet more generally among young people is an important topic. Some key literature is missing on links between youth participation and Internet use / education level.

Author Response

According to their review.

We have adapted all references to the journal's standards.
