The New Report of Root Rot on Fatsia japonica Caused by Phytophthora nicotianae in China
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The Authors report root rot of Fatsia japonica caused by Phytophthora nicotianae for the first time in China. The symptoms of the disease were described in detail. The etiology of the disease was proved correctly by fulfilling Koch's postulates and the causal agent was identified by both morphological criteria and multigene phylogeny. I just updated the literature adding two recent reports of this pathogen. Other minor criticisms are reported by notes in the text (attached file). Overall the report is interesting and fits the scope of the journal.

Reviewer 2 Report
The article is interesting and seems to have a lot of lab work. Restructuring of the text and improvement of the English language is needed. In many paragraphs, it is hard to read or has a very poor vocabulary
A few comments:
L24 Do not repeat the words that exist in the title. Choose other
Introduction. Add a few more sentences about the genus Phytophthora
2.4 write the paragraph as legibly as possible
2.5. Was the soil you used sterile?
Fig.3 Blue filling the parallelogram is not necessary. Only the outline of the square
the English language is poor. In some parts of the text, it is misspelled
