The authors wish to correct the following corrections in this paper [1]:
1. After a revision of our statistical procedures, we have detected an error in the coding of the rarefaction and extrapolation curves. This mistake occurred in the procedures that produced Figure 2 and Figure A1. In short, the y-axis resulted from the number of samples with individuals present, rather than the number of orders present. After reconducting this analysis, we realized that there are not sufficient data to correctly build rarefaction-extrapolation curves. We therefore withdraw the results from this method (Section 3.2).
Despite the above, the interpretations and conclusions of our study remain. As indicated in the Results section, similar interpretations to those of the withdrawn rarefaction-extrapolation curves arise from the results of the mixed-effects models, albeit on sample-level (alpha) species richness (see Section 3.1 and Tables 2 and 3 of the paper).
2. We wish to add a correction in a scientific name mentioned in the first paragraph of Results and Table A1: Proformica ferreri instead of Proformica ferrari.
We apologize for any inconvenience. The manuscript will be updated and the original version will remain available online, with a reference to this correction.
Acknowledgments
We thank Simon Thorn for bringing to our attention on rarefaction and extrapolation curves and Felipe Pascual for taxonomic correction.
