Comments and Suggestions for Authors
  • Add legends to all figures, including corresponding values and units, to enhance readability and interpretation.

  • Ensure consistency of units throughout the manuscript, especially in Table 2.1, where discrepancies were noted.

  • Clarify the term "fluid leakage" in Table 2.1 – provide a definition or context for better understanding.

  • Explain the meaning of "displacement" in Table 2.1 – specify whether this refers to mechanical displacement, fluid displacement, or another type.

  • Indicate the locations of the wells within the model – a figure or description is needed to understand their spatial distribution.

  • Justify the geometric differences between the geomechanical and flow models – explain why these two models are not aligned in terms of geometry.

  • Revise Figure 2.5 by adding a legend – clearly explain the series shown in the plot for clarity.

  • Describe how the model corresponds to the referenced real field, particularly with regard to the assumed permeability distribution – more justification or field data support would improve credibility.

  • As you plan to perform injection in a mature field, we recommend considering the use of existing production wells for the injection process. An example of this approach can be found in the paper "Technical Conditions of Well Application for EOR-CCS Projects in Polish Conditions."

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

In the reviewed work, a detailed modeling of the hydraulic fracturing process in a low-permeability reservoir is carried out in one of the oil fields in China. Although this work is focused on a specific oil source, the general approach taken in the work may be of general interest, since some basic problem determining flow capacity (such well permeability distribution, estimation of average permeability, the role of injected volume) have been discussed and qualitatively characterized.

I believe that some points in authors’ comments

  1. What is the meaning of colors in Fig. 2=4? Bar with colors values should be added.
  2. It is not clear how Figs 2-5, 2-6 were found.
  3. When talking about stresses, it is necessary to explain how the stresses were calculated and to what point in the well the stresses refer.
  4. 2-7. The same as in Fig. 2-4.
  5. 2-8. What did you take three-mode distribution and how is it correspond to the real situation?
  6. How do you estimated the reliability of your results in correspondence with real situation in the well taken as an example?
  7. Figs 3-5, 3-6. Please, do not connect the point in the figures by broken lines but draw averaging smooth curves marking expected errors for the points
  8. Figs 3-8, 3-9 – the same as in Comment 7.
  9. I am very disappointed with the list of references. The authors did not take into account that they are writing not only for Chinese colleagues, but are submitting a research article to an international journal. There are many works in the world literature on numerical modeling methods and their application to the oil industry. Are these works known to the authors? It is impossible to treat the work of foreign colleagues so dismissively. In my opinion, without a balanced list of references, the article cannot be published
