Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Acute breast bleeding is seldom reported life-threatening bleeding mostly in locally advanced breast tumors. Authors report a rare case of a patient with acute bleeding due to a locally advanced breast tumor successfully treated with transcatheter arterial embolization. The manuscript reviews 16 articles regarding this topic. The topic of this manuscript is up-to-date, attractive, and well-suited for your journal. The manuscript is well-written and divided into 4 main parts, the text is clear and easy to read. For better visualization authors used 2 figures and added a list of abbreviations. I appreciate added photographic material which enriches this manuscript. I suggest checking for some spelling mistakes and grammar errors. Otherwise, I have no major concerns about this manuscript and I recommend it for publication.

Author Response

Reviewer 2 Report

Interesting case report, i have a recommendation for the authors, all case reports should follow the guidelines of CARE, try to read them and report that you have followed them in the introduction section. It is good practise and all case reports should follow them.

Author Response

Dear reviewer, Thank you for your comments and for the prompt correction of the manuscript. We have followed your suggestion and updated the manuscript indicating that we have correctly followed the CARE guidelines.

Reviewer 3 Report

The authors describe a case of triple negative, BRCA-mutation negative, locally advanced breast cancer with acute severe bleeding successfully treated with transcatheter arterial embolization. I think that this topic could be of great interest to the patients.

1. The case report is generally well written, however I would recommend the authors to divide the case presentation section and the discussion section  in some type of logical segments because it is very difficult to read the way it is written now (as two big segments).

2. The figure legends are just itemized. They need to provide more information. Please rewrite.

3. In lines 82-83 the authors wrote “breast cancer gene (BRCA) testing was performed on the patient”. Which one? BRCA 1 or 2 or both?

Author Response

Dear reviewer, thank you for your suggestions.
- we have divided the case report into sections to make it easier to understand while reading
- we have implemented the description of the figures
- the BRCA test involved analysis of genes 1 and 2, and we have now specified this
