What a remarkable first three months it has been for Cardiovascular Medicine!
Since its relaunch in autumn 2025, the journal has made a highly encouraging start. During this initial period, MDPI launched a new website—and are already preparing further improvements—while we received the first wave of manuscript submissions and benefited greatly from the dedication and expertise of our outstanding reviewers [1]. Their constructive and thoughtful comments have substantially strengthened the quality of the submitted manuscripts.
In parallel, we established a new Editorial Board comprising 16 highly cited Swiss and international experts representing all areas of contemporary cardiovascular medicine. We will continue to strengthen the Editorial Board by welcoming additional experts in the field.
We are also delighted to have initiated a collaboration with the Swiss Society of Perfusion, further reinforcing the journal’s interdisciplinary orientation and its relevance for modern cardiovascular care [2].
Thanks to the strong support of MDPI, the Editorial Office, our Editorial Board Members, and reviewers, we reached a key milestone in December 2025, with the publication of the first issue of the newly relaunched Cardiovascular Medicine [3]. This achievement reflects a truly outstanding team effort, and I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone involved.
On behalf of the Editorial Board, I am very much looking forward to the continued growth and development of the journal. Our ambition is to establish Cardiovascular Medicine as a leading clinically and practically focused cardiovascular journal, dedicated to high-quality research and education for today’s interdisciplinary Heart Team.
As such, I invite you to become part of Cardiovascular Medicine by submitting manuscripts addressing acute and chronic cardiovascular care, cardiovascular and aortic surgery, structural heart disease, imaging, and cardio-oncology. This will help us to maintain our clear commitment to clinical relevance, education, and the promotion of interdisciplinary dialogue across the Heart Team.
Together, we will build on our strong foundation and shape a dynamic and promising future for Cardiovascular Medicine!
