The manuscript "1,3-Bis(5,6,7,8-tetrahydrobenzo[4,5]thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-yl)imidazolidine-4,5-dione" by Yin, Kim and Song details the synthesis and characterization of a heterocyclic molecule with an extended conjugated system.

I find no obvious flaws in the experiments and the compound does look interesting for follow-up research. Derivatives thereof may be of use as monomers for materials with electronic properties, as dyes, organocatalysts or ligands for transition metal catalysts (e.g. Arduengo carbenes).
Therefore, this short note can be published in its current form in my opinion.

Please also add a mol file for molecule 2, since it is also a new compound.

The manuscript of Short Note: "1,3-Bis(5,6,7,8-tetrahydrobenzo[4,5]thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-2-yl)imidazolidine-4,5-dione" sent by authors:  Xuelian Yin, Sung Min Kim and Yang-Heon Song is carefully prepared according the required standard. The synthesis of 1,3-bis(5,6,7,8-tetrahydrobenzo[4,5]thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-yl)imidazolidine-4,5-dione has been properly described and the product has been fully characterized by 1H, 13C NMR, IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis. The spectra are given in the Supplementary file. The present manuscript should be acceptable for publication in the Molbank without further revision.

In this short note the authors described the synthesis of titled compound in two step from thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-amine, a starting materila whose synthesis is known in the litterature. Titled compound is not known in scifinder. The structure elucidations of final compound and intermediate are conclusive. In this context I recommend the publication of this short note after adressing the two point listed below.

1- l 38  ...a sharp triplet at 5.29 ppm attributed to methylene protons...

2- In conclusion It is stated that "This thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivative could be used as a useful component of various functional materials." Which type of functional materials? The introduction is mainly focuses on biologicla properties of thienopyrimidine and imidazolidinedione, if possible add some words on application of these structures as functional materials (with corresponding litterature references) in the introduction.
