Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Janovák and coworkers reported the use of self-assembled colloidal prodrug nanoparticles for controlled drug delivery. Although the study was interesting, because of grammatical and spelling errors it was difficult to follow. If the authors can correct those errors and other minor corrections, the manuscript can be accepted for publication.

1.     The compound structures in schemes need to be corrected, especially PVA structure as written doesn’t represent as polymer.

Author Response

We would like to thank the valuable discussions on this manuscript. Your comment was very useful. As suggested by the Reviewer, we have gone through the revised article and corrected minor typing mistakes and grammatical errors, including the compound structures listed above. The changes are marked using the “Track Changes” function as requested by the Editor.

Thank you again for your very positive comments!

With respect,

László Janovák

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors describe the synthesis of polymeric prodrug nanomaterial able by self-assemble suitable for the conjugation (encapsulation) of drugs with amino and/or carboxyl and/or hydroxyl groups via ester and/or amide linkage. And they test its usefulness by making use of a versatile drug with antibiotic, antibacterial and antineoplastic properties. The research described is very well organized and the results obtained are relevant. In my opinion, this work is suitable for publication in IJMS. However, the English should be checked

Author Response

First of all, we would like to thank the Reviewer for his evaluation of our manuscript. The manuscript was carefully proof-read spell checked to eliminate grammatical errors. The changes are marked using the “Track Changes” function as requested by the Editor. Finally, thank you again for your very positive comments!

With respect,

László Janovák
