The Role of lncRNAs in the Stem Phenotype of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Melendez-Zajgla & Maldonado have made a good and valuable review of the state of the art regarding LncRNAS in PDAC, including CSCs, and their implications in tumor origins and progression of this cancer type, remarking the novelty and importance of the topic in spite of the knowledge gap in the area. The article highlights important data, is very well structured, language is clear, the bibliography is up-to-date, and the different assessments are easy to follow. In general, I recommend the manuscript for publication.
Minor revision:
1.- Line 15. "...on typical general and...". Sentence needs to be corrected.
2.- Line 55. "...levels, including cell of origin, cancer...". Sentence needs to be corrected.
3.- Line 107. Change "environment" to "environmental"
4.- Line 123. Erase "Cancer Stem Cells" and just leave "CSCs"
5.- Tables 1 and 2 are splitted in between 2 pages.
6.- Lines 138-143. These two sentences need to be redesigned to be more clear.
7.- Line 153. "...important factor for it is...". Sentence needs to be corrected.
8.- Lines 195-196. This sentence needs to be redesigned to be more clear.
9.- Line 206. "...the response to therapeutic approaches to cancer." Sentence needs to be corrected.
10.- Line 211. Change "...cancer ovarian cells..." to "ovarian cancer cells".
11.- Line 268. Change "...show that expression..." to "that the expression..." to be more readable.
12.- Line 276. "...are key most...". Sentence needs to be corrected.
13.- Reference format in the text needs to be unified. I found several variants: "Author, et. al," (Line 209) - "Author, et. al.," (Line 158) - "Author et al" (Line 123), among others.

Reviewer 2 Report
The review is thorough. However, the authors could add a diagram/pictorial representation to explain the overall function of the lncRNAs.
Author Response
Dear reviewer
Thank you for your suggestion. We added a new Figure (Figure 1) with lncRNAs´ functions.
