Against the backdrop of rapid population aging and a high prevalence of cognitive impairment in China, identifying modifiable environmental risk factors is a public health priority. Although environmental noise is widely recognized as a significant stressor, its effects on cognitive health remain underexplored within the Chinese context. Drawing on balanced panel data from three waves of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), we examined 3459 individuals aged 45 and above to assess the association between noise pollution and cognitive function using a two-way fixed-effects model. Additionally, we employed a chained mediation approach to investigate whether sleep disturbances and depressive symptoms serve as intermediary mechanisms. The findings indicated a significant inverse relationship: each unit increase in the noise pollution index corresponded to a 0.41-point reduction in overall cognitive scores. These results were robust across various noise exposure measures. Sensitivity analyses using alternative noise metrics also supported this finding. Sleep duration and depression were identified as significant mediators in the relationship between noise pollution and cognitive decline. This longitudinal analysis offers compelling evidence that environmental noise constitutes a substantial risk factor for declining cognitive function in middle-aged and older adults in China. Promoting green innovation is an important way to implement the dual carbon strategy and build an innovative country. Based on the panel data of 250 cities in China from 2011 to 2018, this paper constructs a two-way fixed-effect model, an intermediary effect model and a spatial Durbin model, and empirically studies the impact and mechanism of digital finance on urban green innovation. The results show that digital finance can improve the ability of urban green innovation, and its enabling effect mainly comes from improving the financial service model and improving the digital level. However, the role of digital finance in improving the efficiency of green innovation is not significant. Digital finance can promote urban green innovation by promoting the development of the Internet and alleviating the distortion of labor factors. A good environment for innovation will enhance the role of digital finance in promoting green innovation. Through further analysis, the spatial spillover effect of digital finance on green innovation at this stage is dominated by the siphon effect while the “trickle-down” effect is blocked. Full article

Green supply chain management is critical for driving sustainable development and addressing escalating environmental challenges faced by companies. However, due to the multidimensionality of cost–benefit analysis and the intricacies of supply chain operations, strategic decision-making regarding green supply chains is inherently complex. This paper proposes a green supply chain optimization framework based on a two-stage heuristic algorithm. First, anchored in the interests of intermediary core enterprises, this work integrates upstream procurement and transportation of products with downstream logistics and distribution. In this aspect, a three-tier green complex supply chain model incorporating economic and environmental factors is developed to consider carbon emissions, product non-conformance rates, delay rates, and transportation costs. The overarching goal is to comprehensively optimize the trade-off between supply chain costs and carbon emissions. Subsequently, a two-stage heuristic algorithm is devised to solve the model by combining the cuckoo search algorithm with the brainstorming optimization algorithm. Specifically, an adaptive crossover–mutation operator is introduced to enhance the search performance of the brainstorming optimization algorithm, which caters to both global and local search perspectives. Experimental results and comparison studies demonstrate that the proposed method performs well within the modeling and optimization of the green supply chain. The proposed method facilitates the efficient determination of ordering strategies and transportation plans within tight deadlines, thereby offering valuable support to decision-makers in central enterprises for supply chain management, ultimately maximizing their benefits. Amidst a backdrop of global economic challenges and shifting market dynamics, this study highlights the transformative role of data elements in enhancing enterprise performance within capital markets, particularly focusing on China’s leading position in the digital economy as a model with implications for global markets. This study utilized a panel data set consisting of 10,493 observations from 2687 listed enterprises in Shanghai and Shenzhen A-shares from 2015 to 2023. An econometric analysis was conducted using a two-way fixed effects model to explore the impact of enterprise data elements on capital market performance in the digital economy and its underlying mechanisms. The research reveals that the digitization of enterprise production factors can significantly enhance performance in the capital market. The study further suggests that enterprise innovation and enterprise value play a crucial role in mediating this effect. This paper introduces a new concept called “data elements”, which expands the definition and assessment methods of enterprise data capabilities. It goes beyond just digital transformation at the application level and includes data governance at the basic ability level. This approach provides a more accurate and comprehensive understanding of the different elements of data. Moreover, the research expands the research scope of microeconomic entities’ economic benefits, thereby extending the value contributed by enterprise data elements to their performance in the capital market. Additionally, this study reveals the relationship between enterprise data elementization and capital market performance through intermediary analysis of enterprise innovation performance and enterprise value, which unveils the “black box” and clarifies the transmission pathway. The findings of this research hold considerable theoretical value and have far-reaching practical implications for government policies concerning data elements and the development of high-quality enterprises, suggesting pathways for global markets to leverage data for enhanced enterprise performance and economic resilience. The results are particularly useful for policymakers, enterprise managers, and scholars in understanding and implementing data-driven strategies in capital markets. Full article

From 2008 to 2021, this study analyzed the spatial correlation characteristics between provincial transportation carbon emission intensity and explored ways to reduce transportation carbon emissions. This study used the modified gravity model, social network analysis (SNA) method, and temporal exponential random graph model (TERGM) to analyze the spatial correlation network evolution characteristics and driving mechanism of China’s transportation carbon emission intensity. This study found that China’s transportation carbon emission intensity and spatial correlation network have unbalanced characteristics. The spatial correlation network of transportation carbon emission intensity revealed that Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Guangdong, Fujian, and other provinces were at the center of the network, with significant intermediary effects. The spatial correlation of transportation carbon emission intensity was divided into four functional plates: “two-way spillover”, “net benefit”, “broker”, and “net spillover”. The “net benefit” plate was mainly located in developed regions, and the “net spillover” plate was primarily located in underdeveloped regions. Endogenous structural and exogenous mechanism variables were the main factors affecting the evolution of the spatial correlation network of provincial transportation carbon emission intensity. Today, mechanical properties and fluid flow dynamic analysis are considered to be two of the most important steps in implant design for bone tissue engineering. The mechanical behavior is characterized by Young’s modulus, which must have a value close to that of the human bone, while from the fluid dynamics point of view, the implant permeability and wall shear stress are two parameters directly linked to cell growth, adhesion, and proliferation. In this study, we proposed two simple geometries with a three-dimensional pore network dedicated to a manufacturing route based on a titanium wire waving procedure used as an intermediary step for Mg-based implant fabrication. Implant deformation under different static loads, von Mises stresses, and safety factors were investigated using finite element analysis. The implant permeability was computed based on Darcy’s law following computational fluid dynamic simulations and, based on the pressure drop, was numerically estimated. It was concluded that both models exhibited a permeability close to the human trabecular bone and reduced wall shear stresses within the biological range. As a general finding, the proposed geometries could be useful in orthopedics for bone defect treatment based on numerical analyses because they mimic the trabecular bone properties. Full article

Integrating informatization into the circulation industry has led to the concept of circulation-industry intelligence. By reducing transportation costs and increasing total factor productivity, the incomes of rural-area residents can be improved; a new pattern of regional economy can be established; urban, rural, social, and economic development can become more coordinated; and social sustainable development can be promoted. In this study, we used China’s provincial panel data corresponding to the 2007–2019 period to measure the intelligence index of the circulation industry in each region and determine the factors that affect the urban–rural income gap; thereafter, we conducted comparative analyses. Further, a fixed-effects model was established based on the theory of agglomeration and diffusion effects to analyze the relationship between these two variables. Our analysis identified innovation investment as a significant intermediary mechanism. The robustness of this finding was verified by substituting variables and controlling for endogeneity. Thus, the effect was shown to be regionally heterogeneous. This study innovatively integrated informatization into the circulation industry, and the results obtained provide a reference for formulating transportation infrastructure as well as informatization strategies for promoting urban–rural coordination and sustainable development globally. With the growing influence of sustainable development in recent years, there has been an increasing focus on green consumption. Little previous research has highlighted the important influential role that social media information sharing plays in overall green consumption. This study aims to explore how social media information sharing influences green purchasing intentions of Generation Z. We constructed a theoretical framework for Generation Z’s green purchase intention based on SOR theory and elucidated the relationship between social media information sharing, perceived green value, subjective norms, and green purchase intention. This study discusses the dual mediating role of perceived green value and subjective norms and explores the moderating role of consumer occupation. Through a self-administered questionnaire survey of 274 members of Generation Z in China, we found that (1) social media information sharing has a positive effect on green purchase intention; (2) perceived green value and subjective norms are considered to play a partially mediating role in consumers’ green purchase intention relationship; (3) occupation mediates the moderating role of subjective norms in social media information sharing and green purchase intention, such that the mediating role of subjective norms is stronger for non-student consumers and insignificant for student consumers. Our findings not only enrich the empirical research on Generation Z’s green consumption, but may also help practitioners develop strategies to influence the intention and behavior of Generation Z consumers toward green products. With the increasing distrust of food safety, both third-party certification systems (TPC) and participatory guarantee systems (PGS) play a vital role in restoring consumer trust. Although the fact that previous research has focused on consumer trust and the factors that impact it in TPC products, little emphasis has been made on how consumer participation in certification affects trust. The goal of the study was to explore how consumer participation certification affects trust in eco-agricultural products under PGS. We constructed a theoretical framework of consumer trust in eco-agricultural products under PGS, based on consumer trust theory, and clarified the relationship between consumer participation certification, information quality, social identity, and consumer trust. After obtaining 238 valid questionnaires on consumers from 12 PGS organizations nationwide, a structural equation model (SEM) was conducted. The conclusions are as follows: (1) Consumer participation has a positive impact on consumer trust, and the direct effect is not significant, but the indirect effect is significant; (2) Information quality and social identity have been identified to play full intermediary roles in the relationship between consumer participation and trust. We suggest relevant research implications and recommendations for future research on consumer trust in PGS based on the findings. Full article

This paper used 586 survey data of aquaculturists in the Shandong and Zhejiang provinces of China and built two intermediary effect models by incorporating fishery cooperative support, order fisheries participation, product quality certification, and safety factor input behavior into the same theoretical analysis framework in order to verify the direct influence of fishery cooperative support on safety factor input behavior of aquaculturists, as well as the intermediary effect of order fisheries participation and product quality certification in the relationship between fishery cooperative support and safety factor input behavior of aquaculturists. The research concluded that fishery cooperative support has a significant positive influence on safety factor input behavior. Participation in order fisheries and product quality certification have a partial intermediary effect in the relationship between fishery cooperative support and safety factor input behavior of aquaculturists; their intermediary effect accounts for 10.3% and 33.7% of the total effect. The research conclusions can provide reference and suggestions for China’s fisheries to better carry out green aquaculture. Full article

The brand equity of banks plays a crucial role in determining customer behavior of using their services. The study aims to examine the impact of brand equity on conversion behavior in the use of personal banking services at commercial banks in Vietnam. The paper uses quantitative research methods, through linear SEM (Structural Equation Modelling) analysis, with survey data including 554 samples of individual customers of commercial banks. The study’s findings show that the bank’s brand equity has a negative impact on the behavior of individual customers. In the relationship between these two factors, competitive advertising effectiveness and loyalty of customers act as intermediary factors. On that basis, the study makes a number of recommendations to preclude customers leaving and minimize business losses caused by the conversion of customers’ banks. The findings of this study have shown the importance and impact of brand equity on conversion behavior in the use of personal customer services. These are meaningful contributions both theoretically and practically to help banks get a deeper insight into brand equity and the need to pay attention to building and developing sustainable brand equity for the bank, as well as an important basis for further research. Technological innovation and stable customer relationships are both important factors for the sustainable development of enterprises. However, it remains unclear whether there is a relationship between stable customer relationships and technological innovation. In this work, we manually collected data regarding customer relationships and the innovation of manufacturing companies listed in the A-Share index in China from 2009 to 2016. Through empirical analysis, this work used a two-way fixed effect model and intermediary effect model tests to explore the impact of stable customer relationships on technological innovation. The empirical research found the following. (1) Stable customer relationships significantly promote the technological innovation of enterprises, and the empirical results are still valid after a variety of robust tests. The competitive advantage of enterprises forms a part of the intermediary role in the relationship above. (2) Comparing the samples of large-scale enterprises, state-owned enterprises, mature enterprises, and low-capital-intensive enterprises, the research found that stable customer relationships can significantly promote corporate technological innovation in small-scale enterprises, non-state-owned enterprises, young enterprises, and highly capital-intensive enterprises. This article enriches and deepens our understanding of the mechanism by which stable customer relationships affect enterprises’ technological innovation. At the same time, this research is helpful for better evaluating the impact of establishing a stable customer relationship on the sustainable competitive advantage of enterprises. Full article
