This article presents a series of innovative systems developed through student laboratory projects, comprising two autonomous vehicles, a quadrupedal walking robot, an active ankle-foot orthosis, a ball-on-beam balancing mechanism, a ball-on-plate system, and a manipulator arm, all actuated by pneumatic artificial muscles (PAMs). Due to their flexibility, low weight, and compliance, fluidic muscles demonstrate substantial potential for integration into various mechatronic systems, robotic platforms, and manipulators. Their capacity to generate smooth and adaptive motion is particularly advantageous in applications requiring natural and human-like movements, such as rehabilitation technologies and assistive devices. Despite the inherent challenges associated with nonlinear behavior in PAM-actuated control systems, their biologically inspired design remains promising for a wide range of future applications. Potential domains include industrial automation, the automotive and aerospace sectors, as well as sports equipment, medical assistive devices, entertainment systems, and animatronics. The integration of self-constructed laboratory systems powered by PAMs into control systems education provides a comprehensive pedagogical framework that merges theoretical instruction with practical implementation. This methodology enhances the skillset of future engineers by deepening their understanding of core technical principles and equipping them to address emerging challenges in engineering practice. Haptic technologies are increasingly valuable for human–computer interaction in its many flavors, including, of course, virtual reality systems, which are becoming very useful tools for education, training, and rehabilitation in many areas of medicine, engineering, and daily life. There is a broad spectrum of technologies and approaches that provide haptic stimuli, ranging from the well-known force feedback to subtile pseudo-haptics and visual haptics. Correspondingly, there is a broad spectrum of applications and system designs that include haptic technologies as a relevant component and interaction feature. Paramount is their use in training of medical procedures, but they appear in a plethora of systems deploying virtual reality applications. This narrative review covers the panorama of haptic devices and approaches and the most salient areas of application. Special emphasis is given to education of persons with special needs, aiming to foster the development of innovative systems and methods addressing the enhancement of the quality of life of this segment of the population. This research paper has defined and applied a new approach to develop and optimize augmented reality-based metaverse environments for learning construction and rehabilitation in architectural studies. This research paper is part of a broader project that aims to improve the learning process of architectural students by approaching construction and rehabilitation realities to the classroom in a feasible and pedagogical way. The approach has been applied successfully to develop a new environment with augmented reality that allows teachers to carry out activities using computers, tablets, cellphones and smartphone headsets in classrooms. Students’ satisfaction regarding the new environment is high, though there is room for improvement. The assessment of this new environment has involved both questionnaires and a multicriteria decision-making method which have holistically evaluated the new proposal by achieving complementary results. The main advantages of this new environment are in terms of application and inclusion, while its weaknesses will be solved in future steps that will introduce both mixed reality, to enlarge students’ perception and comprehension, as well as neuroeducation, to diminish students’ potential annoyances and dissatisfaction. The article presents the potentials and capacities of extracurricular activities such as student workshops for strengthening existing curricula and introducing emerging specialised areas, topics, and challenges into architectural higher education. The specific objective of this study is to enhance and test different pedagogical models for learning on the sustainable rehabilitation of mass housing neighbourhoods (MHN), as a specific type of modern heritage, through innovative extracurricular teaching practices based on interdisciplinarity, flexibility, and adaptability. This research presents three student workshops focusing on the rehabilitation of mass housing neighbourhoods (MHN), involving students, academics, and professionals from the field, organised in Germany, Serbia, and North Macedonia in 2022. Moreover, it engages a comparative analysis of the learning formats and approaches developed within this discipline-specific cross-border collaboration. The study provides (1) an insight into the comparative analysis of learning capabilities and (2) the formulation of workshop models supported by diagramming of the workshop structure. The conclusion of the article summarises the findings and highlights the essential aspects for engaging student workshops, as an instrument for generating operational knowledge in the field of mass housing rehabilitation. In recent years, the study of dyslexia has seen rapid progress in definition and classification, neuropsychological correlates, neurobiological factors, and intervention. However, there are few studies on how virtual reality can affect improving cognitive domains and cross-cutting pedagogical skills. We, therefore, tested intervention through the use of a virtual reality rehabilitation system (VRRS) in children with dyslexia. Twenty-eight patients diagnosed with dyslexia were enrolled in this study. One-half underwent conventional neuropsychological treatment, and the other half performed VR neurorehabilitation training using the VRRS. All patients were evaluated by neuropsychological assessment at baseline (T0) and at the end of the protocol (T1). The assessment included the administration of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-IV and the Italian Battery for the Assessment of Dyslexia and Dysorthography. Our results showed a significant difference in word-reading test scores as well as in homophonic writing. In addition, treatment type was found to affect some domains of the WISC. We believe that the VRRS led to improved outcomes through the use of VR, which encourages active exploration, improves engagement, and provides motivation and enjoyment, allowing longer training sessions and improving treatment adherence. Weight resistance training (RT) is an essential component of physical conditioning programs to improve the quality of life and physical fitness in different ages and populations. This integrative review aimed to analyze the scientific evidence on the relationship between exercise selection and the appearance of musculoskeletal injuries in physical fitness centers (PFC). The PubMed or Medline, EMBASE or Science Direct, Google Scholar and PEDro databases were selected to examine the available literature using a Boolean algorithm with search terms. The review process was performed using the five-stage approach for an integrative review and it was reported according to the PRISMA in Exercise, Rehabilitation, Sport Medicine and Sports Science (PERSiST) guidelines. A total of 39 peer-reviewed articles (Price index = 71.7%) met the inclusion criteria and evaluated the link between exercise selection and the incidence of injuries in exercisers who regularly attend PFC. Most injuries occur to the shoulders, elbows, vertebrae of the spine, and knees. Although the injury etiologies are multifactorial, the findings of the reviewed articles include the impacts of overuse, short post-exercise recovery periods, poor conditioning in the exercised body areas, frequent use of heavy loads, improper technique in certain exercises, and the abuse of performance- and image-enhancing drugs. Practical recommendations addressed to clinical exercise physiologists, exercise professionals, and health professionals are given in this paper. The exercise selection in RT programs requires professional supervision and adhering to proper lifting techniques and training habits that consider the anatomical and biomechanical patterns of the musculoskeletal structures, as well as genetic, pedagogical, and methodological aspects directly related to the stimulus–response process to mitigate the occurrence of RT-related injuries in PFC. (1) The war in Ukraine has changed the normal life of every Ukrainian, including educators. For the fourth month, the educational process has been taking place under martial law. Thus, the task of every pedagogue and every university teacher is to start the educational process not only for the sake of knowledge, because you cannot deprive children of education, but also for the sake of psychological rehabilitation. The war has given an impetus to the radical renewal of education, particularly higher education, which determines the relevance of this study. (2) It is common knowledge that the professional pedagogical activity of a university teacher is of great significance to society. It is about the formation of a future specialist, whose level of qualification considerably affects the economic, political, social, and cultural component of the sustainable development of society, something which is especially relevant in the post-war period. (3) The research hypothesis is that renewing the potential of university teachers in the post-war period will allow the improvement of the educational process in universities, will significantly increase the level of professional training of students and will ensure the sustainable development of society. To examine this hypothesis, the professional and personal potential of teachers was studied in detail with the aim of understanding radical changes in approaches to methods, techniques, and forms of education, as well as the type and style of communication between teachers and students. (4) The research methodology comprised a survey conducted by the CAWI method using a structured questionnaire based on the respondents’ place of permanent residence. The sample totality was stratified according to the regions of Ukraine where the teachers work. Teachers of Ukrainian higher education institutions took part in the study. The study sample included 350 people. The main task of the study was to analyze the potential of university teachers in the pre-war and post-war periods. The other tasks the study undertakes are to propose the concept of professional unity of students and teachers of higher educational institutions and to consider reflection as a tool; a tool which is a cross-sectional, integrating factor that structures the education system in various types of professional activity. (5) The undoubted achievement of the work is that, for the first time, the state of higher education was analyzed under war conditions and its development in the post-war period was predicted. This will aid the country’s recovery and ensure the sustainable development of society in the post-war period. This study can complement and enhance the theoretical discussion and practical experience on sustainable development from the perspective of higher education. Full article

The worldwide rising trend of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) calls for innovative and efficacious techniques for assessment and treatment. Virtual reality (VR) technology gains theoretical support from rehabilitation and pedagogical theories and offers a variety of capabilities in educational and interventional contexts with affordable products. VR is attracting increasing attention in the medical and healthcare industry, as it provides fully interactive three-dimensional simulations of real-world settings and social situations, which are particularly suitable for cognitive and performance training, including social and interaction skills. This review article offers a summary of current perspectives and evidence-based VR applications for children with ASD, with a primary focus on social communication, including social functioning, emotion recognition, and speech and language. Technology- and design-related limitations, as well as disputes over the application of VR to autism research and therapy, are discussed, and future directions of this emerging field are highlighted with regards to application expansion and improvement, technology enhancement, linguistic diversity, and the development of theoretical models and brain-based research.
