Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We invite contributes to this Special Issue of the journal Youth, focusing on fostering youth leadership in social, educational, and digital contexts.
Youth leadership has an important role to play in various domains. Mohamed, Omar, and Jama (2025) focus on the impact that youth leadership can have in higher education institutions, promoting the importance of educational conservation. However, this form of leadership is not confined to higher education. Schools often place importance on youth or student leadership through school councils, course representatives, or similar roles. Some of these roles require formal instruction, whereas others are less formalized. Nevertheless, they all help individuals to develop the leadership skills necessary to discharge their responsibilities.
In this Special Issue, we are seeking contributions from individuals working in the field of youth leadership, be that through education, social—for which we take a broad definition, including civic and ministry—or digital means. We intend for this Special Issue to contribute to the discourse on youth leadership and how it shapes policy and practice at a micro and macro level. We are particularly interested in articles that explore the impact of youth leadership regarding topics including, but not limited to, social justice, sustainable development, and collaboration facilitation between institutions and the communities they serve.
Please contact the Guest Editor (Dr. Steve Lambert, s.lambert@chester.ac.uk) if you have any questions about the possible suitability of papers. Please note that emails should not include requests to review papers.
