Dr. Maurizio A. Leone Appointed Associate Editor of Sclerosis

The aim is to provide a snapshot of some of the most exciting work published in the various research areas of the journal.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Associate Editor Dr. Maurizio A. Leone, who has taken over the editorial leadership of Sclerosis (ISSN: 2813-3064), starting from 16 January 2024.

Dr. Maurizio Leone is the past head of the Neurology Unit and is currently a consultant at the “Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza” hospital in San Giovanni Rotondo, and the Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche “Mario Negri” in Milano, Italy. Both are Clinical Research Institutes, with a special focus on translational medicine.
After graduating from the University of Torino in Medicine and Neurology, Dr. Leone was a Guest Researcher at the Neuroepidemiology Branch, NINCDS, NIH, Bethesda, USA, and head of the Multiple Sclerosis Centre of the University Hospital "Maggiore della Carità" in Novara, Italy. He has co-authored over 220 articles in peer-reviewed journals and almost 400 conference publications and book chapters.
Dr. Maurizio Leone is a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Academy of Neurology and heads its Guideline Production Group. He was President of the Italian Society of Neuroepidemiology, a member of the board of the Italian Society of Neurology, and is an honorary member of the Moldovan Society of Neurologists.
