Prof. Dr. Zhong Lu and Dr. Tiago Miguel Ferreira Appointed GeoHazards Editors-in-Chief

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Dr. Zhong Lu and Dr. Tiago Miguel Ferreira have been appointed as GeoHazards Editors-in-Chief.
Editor-in-Chief
Prof. Dr. Zhong Lu is a Shuler-Foscue Professor of Earth Sciences at Southern Methodist University in USA .
He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Peking University, Beijing, China, in 1989 and 1992, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Fairbanks, AK, USA, in 1996. He was a Physical Scientist with the United States Geological Survey in Vancouver, WA, USA, from 1997 to 2013. He is currently a Professor and Endowed Shuler-Foscue Chair with the Roy M. Huffington Department of Earth Sciences, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX, USA (http://www.smu.edu/dedman/lu). He has produced more than 200 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters focused on InSAR techniques and applications, along with a book, InSAR Imaging of Aleutian Volcanoes: Monitoring a Volcanic Arc from Space (Springer, 2014). Dr. Lu has been a member of the NASA––ISRO SAR (NISAR) Science Team since 2012. His research interests include developing interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) processing techniques and studying volcanos, landslides, and human-induced geohazards using InSAR and geophysical models.

Dr. Tiago Miguel Ferreira is a Researcher at the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Minho in Portugal.
He has a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Aveiro (2009), a Postgraduate Degree in Rehabilitation of Built Heritage from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (2010), and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Aveiro (2015), having developed his thesis within the scope of the seisimc vulnerability assessment of masonry buildings. He is currently a Junior Researcher at the Institute of Science and Innovation for Bio-Sustainability (IB-S) of the University of Minho and an Invited Assistant Professor at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Over the last decade has been researching in the field of urban risk-related issues, namely on the assessment and mitigation of single and multi-hazard risk in urban areas. He is the author of more than 150 scientific and technical publications, including more than 60 articles in international peer-reviewed journals. Over the past few years, he has been active in editing and reviewing scientific articles for more than 20 international scientific journals.
We warmly welcome Prof. Dr. Zhong Lu and Dr. Tiago Miguel Ferreira as the Editors-in-Chief of GeoHazards, and we look forward to GeoHazards achieving many milestones under their leadership. Further information about the journal can be found here.
