Journal of Clinical Medicine 2024 Editorial Board Meeting of the Section “Clinical Neurology” Held on 16 April 2024

The Journal of Clinical Medicine (JCM, ISSN: 2077-0383) has been holding Editorial Board meetings since 2023. The Editorial Board meeting for the Section “Clinical Neurology” was held on 16 April 2024. We appreciate the Section Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Lindsay A. Farrer, for hosting this meeting; three Editorial Board Members were in attendance. We would like to invite everyone to jointly review the content of this meeting. We are extremely grateful for the strong support from our Editorial Board Members. Meanwhile, we sincerely hope that more Editorial Board Members will be able to participate in future meetings.

The meeting started with a presentation about the development of the journal, with a particular focus on the Section “Clinical Neurology”, and the following topics were discussed:

The journal’s history, open access policy, and author benefits;
Journal publication statistics and authors’ group analysis (2018–2023);
Journal awards, journal marketing activities, and journal social media promotion;
Section EBM overview, decision-making statistics, and Section development statistics.

At this Editorial Board meeting, the following areas were covered in the discussion:

Section title and scope discussion: Members actively discussed and proposed a series of ideas for modification to the existing Section names, including expanding the coverage of disciplines, adding new members in specific areas, etc., and strived to make the Section settings more attractive.
Exploration of conference promotion channels: Focusing on enhancing the visibility of the Section through various academic conferences, we propose launching Special Issues for disease-specific conferences and establishing long-term cooperative relationships with conferences. At the same time, we will pay attention to the preferred journals of cooperative conferences to plan our promotional campaigns.
Future plans: The members reached a consensus that Special Issues could be used to attract new members and expand participation pathways for uninvolved members, which would promote the new scope of the Section, attract manuscripts, and positively influence the journal. Moreover, all the members were encouraged to contribute manuscripts.

We sincerely thank the Editorial Board Members for their active participation. Thanks to your participation, we could exchange views face-to-face and get timely feedback. We hope that more members will join us in the future.
