The editorial team of the Journal of Functional Biomaterials (JFB, ISSN: 2079-4983) is doing its best to provide its collaborators and interested authors with best practices and services. The academic environment is changing year after year and because of this, we have to make an announcement about future perspectives and updates that will take place within the journal.
Starting from 23 April 2024, after a very careful evaluation and with Editor-in-Chief’s approval, our journal will remove one of its Sections: “Cell-Biomaterial Interaction”. Due to the small number of papers published and the lack of relevant opened Special Issues, we have decided to make some adjustments to the journal, and this removal is the outcome of this decision. All papers published within this Section will be moved to other relevant Sections or as regular publications.
We want to express our gratitude towards authors, reviewers, and editors who have contributed to the Section over the years. Your efforts and support have made the Section a valuable part of the journal; moreover, the dedication that you have shown is much appreciated. All Editorial Board Members will be moved and contacted soon to provide some solutions, and we would be more than happy to continue our collaboration with them.
Interested researchers and authors can still submit to the journal as normal or in the other remaining Sections that can be found by visiting the following link: https://www.mdpi.com/journal/jfb/sections.
Further questions can be addressed to the editorial team via email at jfb@mdpi.com or jr-jfb@mdpi.com.
Thank you for your contributions, continued support, and understanding.
