Feature papers represent the most advanced research with significant potential for high impact in the field. A Feature Paper should be a substantial original Article that involves several techniques or approaches, provides an outlook for future research directions and describes possible research applications.
Feature papers are submitted upon individual invitation or recommendation by the scientific editors and must receive positive feedback from the reviewers.
Editor’s Choice articles are based on recommendations by the scientific editors of MDPI journals from around the world. Editors select a small number of articles recently published in the journal that they believe will be particularly interesting to readers, or important in the respective research area. The aim is to provide a snapshot of some of the most exciting work published in the various research areas of the journal.

We are also part of the OASPA Fully OA group of open access publishers, which participates with a booth at the Vendor Showcase on 6 November 2023 (Table 97 – right on the opposite side of the room when entering the Grand Ballroom at the Gaillard Center).
About the event
The Charleston Conference is an informal annual gathering of librarians, publishers, electronic resource managers, and publishing specialists in Charleston, SC, to discuss issues of importance to them all. Collegial gatherings are combined with talks and panel discussions on current topics of interest to individuals from different areas.
Publishers get the chance to discuss and debate with library directors, acquisitions librarians, reference librarians, serials librarians, collection development librarians, and many others. Begun in 1980, the Charleston Conference has grown from 20 participants in 1980 to thousands in 2021.

The Gaillard Convention Center in Charleston SC, USA; and the Francis Marion, the Embassy Suites Historic, and the Courtyard Marriott Historic hotels in Charleston.
What to expect?
"The transition to open-access publishing, accelerated even more by the onset of COVID, Plan S and the Nelson Memo from the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), has impacted how librarians allocate their declining budgets. These and other funding mandates have created challenges for both libraries and publishers. Both entities have much in common, yet how do they sort out how to effectively collaborate to serve common consumers – authors, readers, and the general public?"
