We would like to share with you an update on the Section structure of Cardiogenetics (ISSN 2035-8148). After careful evaluation and analysis, we have made the decision to:

Sections "Cardiovascular Genetics in Clinical Practice," "Inherited Heart Disease–Children," "Inherited Aortic Disease," and "Sport Cardiology" were merged with "Cardiovascular Genetics in Clinical Practice."

Merge the Sections "Rare Disease–Genetic Syndromes," "Rare Disease–Metabolic Diseases," and "Rare Disease–Neuromuscular Diseases" to create a new Section, "Rare Cardiovascular Disorders."

Merge the Sections "Molecular Genetics," "Animal Models," and "Biomarkers" to create a new Section, "Molecular & Translational Genetics."

All published papers and Special Issues from the former Sections will be transferred to the new Sections accordingly.

Moreover, the Sections “Education in Cardiogenetics” and “Stem Cells” will be closed. All published papers will remain unchanged.

This decision was based on a comprehensive review of the journal's substantial development. This strategic initiative aims to make the Section structure clearer, allowing readers to better identify relevant articles, while more precisely aligning the journal's sections with its core focus on cardiovascular and genetic research and reinforcing its distinctive academic identity.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all members of the Editorial Board for their invaluable contributions and support throughout this transformative process. We are especially grateful to our Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Giuseppe Limongelli, Associate Editor, Dr. Lia Crotti, and our Section Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Matteo Vatta, for their strategic guidance, unwavering support, and dedication to advancing the journal's mission. Together, we are committed to advancing the cardiogenetics field.
