MDPI Open Access Publishing Agreement with 96 Institutions across Sweden
We're pleased to announce that MDPI has signed a comprehensive Institutional Open Access Program (IOAP) agreement covering 96 institutions across Sweden. If you are a researcher affiliated with a participating Swedish university, university college, or government research institute, here's what this means for you.
Publish at No Additional Cost
As a researcher at a participating institution, you can now publish in any MDPI journal at no additional cost to you. The consortium has paid a flat annual fee that covers article processing charges (APCs) for your publications. This means you can focus on your research and publishing without managing the individual publication fees of your article.
How It Works
Publishing under this agreement is straightforward:
- Submit your manuscript through MDPI's online submission system using your institutional email address. The affiliated author must be listed as the corresponding author on the manuscript.
- Select your institution from the dropdown menu during submission
- That's it—in most cases, no further action is required from you
All submissions will undergo an eligibility check, and if your manuscript is confirmed eligible, the APC will be covered directly through the flat-fee arrangement. Authors with an approved APC waiver should inform the editorial office during submission so it can be applied accordingly. If for any reason, coverage of your APC is declined, you'll be notified and invoiced directly with an IOAP discount applied.
Additional Benefits for You
Beyond free publication, you'll also receive:
- 10% discount on MDPI Book Processing Charges (BPCs)
- 15% discount on Author Services (language editing, formatting, etc.)
- 10% discount on JAMS services for scholarly publishing
