Recruiting Editorial Board Members for Medicina


Medicina (ISSN: 1648-9144) is an international, peer-reviewed, and open access journal published by MDPI. We are seeking experts to join the Editorial Board and help guide the journal’s development, particularly in areas where we wish to strengthen representation.

We especially welcome scholars with expertise in the following areas:

  • Obstetric medicine;
  • Gynecologic oncology;
  • Gynecological surgery;
  • Orthodontics;
  • Oral and maxillofacial surgery;
  • Periodontics;
  • Caries;
  • Temporomandibular disorders;
  • Oral cancer;
  • Gastrointestinal surgery;
  • Orthopedic surgery;
  • Neurosurgery;
  • Plastic and reconstructive surgery;
  • Anesthesia;
  • Airway management;
  • Pain management;
  • Prehospital medicine;
  • Urology;
  • Orthopedics;
  • Breast cancer;
  • Radiation oncology;
  • Interstitial lung disease;
  • Male reproductive medicine;
  • Transfusion;
  • Hematologic malignancies;
  • Leukemia;
  • Multiple myeloma.

Application eligibility:
Individuals are eligible to apply for the role of Editorial Board Member if:

  • They have completed their doctorate/PhD degree;
  • They have published impactful work in the field of medicine;
  • They currently (at the time of application) hold the position of a senior lecturer, associate professor, or professor in academia;
  • They are actively engaged in their community (e.g., experienced in presenting at conferences or involved in professional organizations).

The main responsibilities of Editorial Board Members are as follows:

  • Pre-screening and making decisions on new submissions related to their research interests;
  • Setting up at least one Special Issue during their term on a topic related to their research interests (or supervising Special Issues related to their research field);
  • Helping to attract suitable expert authors and inviting young scholars to join as Early Career Editorial Board Members;
  • Providing input or feedback regarding journal policies;
  • Helping to promote the journal among their peers or at conferences;
  • Attending Board meetings to suggest journal development strategies;
  • Reviewing manuscripts.
