Publisher’s Note: Journal of Pharmaceutical and BioTech Industry, a New Open Access Journal

Collaborations between academia and industry serve as a powerful catalyst for scientific progress, synergizing the strengths of both sectors. Academic institutions contribute theoretical expertise, fundamental research, and innovative ideas, while industry provides real-world challenges and resources, as well as drawing our attention to practical applications. This partnership creates a dynamic ecosystem that facilitates the transition of theoretical knowledge into practical, applied solutions, accelerating the rate of scientific discovery and technological innovation.

To emphasize the importance of such collaborative research projects, we are pleased to announce the launch of Journal of Pharmaceutical and BioTech Industry (ISSN 2813-9380) [1], an international open access journal dedicated to the study of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector from both industrial and academic perspectives. This is the first journal in MDPI’s portfolio to foster this type of joint effort. Our main objective is to create a platform in which industrial and academic researchers can connect, share and complement each other’s discoveries to enhance the wellbeing of patients and contribute to scientific and technological advances. The scope will cover key areas in pharmaceutical and biotech sciences with a focus on the various stages of drug development, from early discovery and testing to manufacturing and production, and explore advancements in fermentation technology, industrial biotechnology and biomedical sciences.

We welcome submissions from academia that present applicative research that will engage our readers from the industry, as well as research performed entirely within the industrial sector. We especially welcome submissions that showcase collaborative research between industry and academia.
