Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Stenting as Palliation of Critical Tetralogy of Fallot: Techniques and Results
Abstract
:1. Introduction—Historical Perspective
2. Indications and Contraindications
- Patients with a high-risk profile for conventional surgical palliation: Low birth-weight neonate with or without any significant comorbidity or with unfavorable anatomic arrangement of the pulmonary arteries, such as pulmonary artery discontinuity or hypoplasia [33].
- Patients at low risk for surgical palliation but with an anticipated need for short-term support to the pulmonary circulation due to the early surgical repair.
