Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper deals with two kinds of multi-sensor control systems for prosthetics, namely, the non-modular method and modular method. The modular method has been found to be advantegous when comparing with non-modular method.

The research is well designed and carried out correctly. The presented examples are convincing. The conclusions are well supported by the examples and the discussion of the results.

The results can be applied into practice immediately. I believe the paper can appear in the Journal.

Author Response

Thank you very much for the feedback - we are pleased to hear the paper has been well received and look forward to publication.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors provided the readers with the description of an interesting approach for real-time detection of intentions in using assistive devices. Their new algorithm has been compared to existing solutions, demonstrating higher accuracy in conditions of sensor dropout. Their conclusions suggest that, when sensing capabilities tend to fall over time, a modular method is more appriopriate for controlling an assistive device. Honestly, after reading the improvements to the text, I consider the paper ready for publication.
