Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This review is about the manuscript “Influence of Complex Piston Movement on Output Flow Rate of Hingeless Bent Axis Axial Piston Pump”. This study studies the influence of complex piston movement on the output flow rate of a hingeless bent axis axial piston pump. It explores the efficiency of a slant-shaft piston pump compared to swash plate axial piston pumps, highlighting the benefits of reduced leakage and higher volumetric efficiency. However there are few questions that need to be answered.

1. Label Figure 1 and insert necessary dimension.

2. Give references of equations 6 to 8.

3. Improve resolutions of Fig.2, 4, and 15

4. Correct Table numbering, e.g. correct Table-4 to table 6.

5. Mention table number and figure number while referencing in the text.

6. Table 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9 are confusing add separate row and column for pressure and Rotating speed.

7. Remove unnecessary sub figures from fig8 and enlarge the size for clarity.

8. How does your research contribute to enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and performance of axial piston pumps, and what are the potential benefits for real-world applications in various industries?

9. Add in the introduction section; what are the main findings of the research on the influence of complex piston movement on the output flow rate of a hingeless bent axis axial piston pump? And how it add to the novelty.

10. What are the specific test conditions used to compare the accuracy of the simulation results with the test results?

11. How does the output flow rate of the pump vary with load pressure and rotational speed, as observed from the simulation and experimental results?

12. What are the key factors influencing the torque ripple of a bi-directional bent-axis type hydraulic piston pump, and how can these be mitigated?

13. What is the effect of varying both volumetric displacement and shaft speed for constant pressure control of a swash plate type axial piston pump?

14. How does the valve plate configuration influence the torque ripple of a bi-directional bent-axis type hydraulic piston pump? Can the relationships between the valve plate geometry and the housing vibration of a bent-axis type hydraulic piston pump be further analyzed and optimized?

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

1.English and grammar of the manuscript need to be a little  improved. In the first paragraph alone, the following changes (not exhaustive) should be made to the grammar:

“structure is different, The swash plate” –It should be dot, not common.

“, and pointed out that the thickness of the oil film between the piston 72 ring and the cylinder body gradually thickens with the increase of the rotational speed, 73 but is almost unaffected by the outlet pressure of the pump, and the friction between the 74 piston ring and the cylinder body increases with the increase of both the rotational speed 75 and the outlet pressure of the pump”- this sentence should be reorganized, it is too long and ungrammatical

and make the motion of the piston more complicated on the 109 other hand.”-what kind of complication, it should be  mentioned

2. Introduction should be extended especially with the description of new approach

3. Information on the quality of the numerical grid should also be included

4.What is the name of  software used  for finite element simulation

5.What are the parameters of numerical simulation? In how many iterations convergence was achieved?

6. In results maybe velocity profiles should also be posted. And the relationship between the pressure drop and the speed of the flowing fluid

Thanks for the corrections. Figures 2 and 4 resolution is still low. The lines are not clear. Improve it further in the final Paper.

Figure 5, Figure 8, and onward figures are not referenced/mentioned in the text.

in line 277 add space between the table and the number

e.g. Table5 to Table 5.

Table  8, and onward tables are not referenced/mentioned in the text.
