I reviewed the manuscript entitled “Potential use of Moringa oleifera twings as an anti-hyperuricemic and anti-microbial source”. In general, the manuscript is interesting and address a hot topic trend - by-products valorization. These by-products are rich in phenolic compounds with diverse bioactivities, namely antioxidant and antimicrobial. The manuscript is well written and supported with appropriate scientific literature, both in the introduction and in the discussion of the results obtained. Moreover, the methods are complete and provide relevant information so that readers can use the same methodologies. However, there are some critical remarks (see attachment).

The authors of the manuscript “Potential Use of Moringa oleifera Twigs as an Anti-hyperuricemic and Anti-microbial Source" have demonstrated that extracts of Moringa oleifera have biological properties. However, authors must review the text and complete other experiments before it is published.

1) The description of the materials is absent. Specify the origin of the solid and liquid reagents reported on the manuscript.

2) The methods that describe the dosage of polyphenols, flavonoids, antioxidant activity must be written in detail. It is not enough to report references!

3) Remove the data labels from the bars of fig. 1.

4) Write a paragraph dedicated to statistical analysis.

5) Report a correlation graph between polyphenols, flavonoids and antioxidant activity with the antimicrobial activity of the most active extracts.

6) Indicate the number of the table relating to antimicrobial activity.

7) Change the title of the manuscript! The authors reported insufficient experimental data to demonstrate that plant extracts (and not the plant) have anti-hyperuricaemic and antimicrobial activity. Correct the text so that there are no references to diseases treated with extracts or plants, especially if the experimental data are insufficient, as in this manuscript.

8) Did you use pathogenic and non-pathogenic bacterial strains in your experiments? Prove that non-pathogenic strains the extracts have no effect.

9) I would like to ask the authors to include in the manuscript at least one photo with the inhibition zones (mm), in which the antibacterial activity of the extracts is evident.

10) Finally, the manuscript cannot fail to demonstrate that the extract is free from cellular toxicity. Perform a hemolysis test of the most active extracts at various dilutions.
