Socio-Educational Challenges for the Inclusion of Children with Cochlear Implants: The Role of Families
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsMy report will be brief because I have no issues for improvement to highlight. I consider the paper a relevant work that offers guidance for educators accompanying families and students whose lives are conditioned by the barriers they face when they have a cochlear implant.
The research is sufficiently justified through the presentation of scientific literature that gives a glimpse of the gap that the work aims to fill. The methodological design is correct and the presentation of the emerging categories, as well as their discussion, are adequate and interesting. The conclusions stand out for their conciseness and applicability.
In addition, I appreciate that two of the research participants, and therefore part of the study population, are co-authors of the paper.
Just to make a note: I would include one or two keywords, after the abstract, relating to the type of methodology used (qualitative methodology, interviews, family narratives...).
Congratulations!

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsDear author/s,
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to review the article:
Socio-Educational Challenges for the Inclusion of Children
with Cochlear Implants: The Role of Families
The article is interesting and properly structured. I would appreciate it if you would address the following points in order to improve the quality of the article.
The abstract should be updated with the country in which the research was conducted, as the approach to this topic differs between different countries in the world. Some background information should be added to make it easier for the reader to understand the required contexts.
keywords I suggest choosing another word instead of "education", which is very general and appears in many articles dealing with education.
The introduction and literature review appear as one unit. They need to be edited separately.
Updated bibliographic sources from the years 2023-2024 should be strengthened.
The article was not written as required by this journal, especially regarding the citation of other bibliographic sources. See an example in lines 100 or 115, and there are many more.
The number of participants in the study is 142, which is a respectable number relative to this type of study and the topic it discusses.
The results section consists of table number one, from which it is not clear how the categories were created, what the prevalence of each category was from an analysis of 142 participants in the study.
The discussion section does provide quotes from the respondents, but they must all be supported by studies or other articles that support their statements.
The article deals with a very important topic that includes many social and educational aspects.
The article still needs in-depth processing in order to be ready for publication.
I suggest that the authors of the article see how they can improve the article according to the comments I have made here and resubmit it.
I hope that the comments I have mentioned here will help the authors to improve their article.

- Theoretical references from the last two years (2023-2024) have been included to complement the theoretical framework and discussions.
