Author would gain credibility if he/they referred to their own psychedelic experiences. As another author wrote, "A psychedelically inexperienced writer about psychedelic religious/spiritual experience has the credibility of a eunuch writing about sexual experience."  This applies to many of the sources cited.

A question that would have added to this paper:

Would experimental sessions for religious philosophers, clergy, and other professionals shed light on this topic? Perhaps we need a dedicated religious order, guild, etc. to examine this topic? Or other experience-based evidence.

Huston Smith's "Cleansing the Doors of Perception" would be more up-to-date on his judgments.

William Richards' "Sacred Knowledge" would be more up-to-date too.
