Comments and Suggestions for Authors 1. The paper begins with a good overview of the impact of environmental regulations on the shipping industry, and the special challenges for smaller ships. It is recommended that the author further elaborate on why the Bond graph was chosen as a modeling tool and its advantages over other modeling methods. 2. The paper mentions some research related to ship energy efficiency, but it seems to lack in-depth analysis of the existing literature. It is recommended that the authors expand the literature review section to discuss in more detail the limitations of existing research and how this study fills these gaps. 3. The method of using Bond diagram modeling is described in the paper, but it may be a bit complicated for non-professional readers. It is recommended that authors provide more visual explanations of the modeling process, such as through flowcharts or step-by-step descriptions to enhance readability. 4.The author proposes to adapt Bond graphs as a modeling tool but does not introduce Bond graphs in more detail instead of other modeling techniques. What are the specific advantages or innovations of this method in this study. The results section clearly shows the optimization results under different operating scenarios. The authors are recommended to further discuss the application of these results to actual ship design and operation, as well as their specific impact on ship performance. 5.It is recommended that the authors expand the Discussion section to include a discussion of study limitations and suggestions for future research directions.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The authors of the paper titled “A Study on Ship Energy System Optimization Using Bond Graphs” present a topic of significant importance. The research addresses the crucial issue of environmental regulations in the maritime industry, with a focus on ship design and construction. The paper discusses the challenges of implementing eco-friendly systems in small ships due to size constraints and operational needs. It emphasizes electric-diesel hybrid systems to mitigate battery discharge risks. Using Bond graph modeling, the study estimates hybrid propulsion efficiency and proposes optimal operational scenarios. The research aims to enhance vessel performance during the early design stages in the future. However, the scope of the audience for this paper appears to be limited.

The paper requires substantial editorial corrections in the following areas:
1. There are numerous instances of multiple spaces or lack of spaces.
2. Multicitation formatting is improper. Multicitation should follow the [x, y] format.
3. The website address should be provided as a literature reference, not as “(www.nifs.go.kr)”.
4. The readability of the diagrams needs improvement.
5. Currently, hovering over the graphics displays descriptions in Chinese, which should be in English.
6. Figure 1 would benefit from a more readable schematic representation without the numerous images that do not contribute substantively to the content.
7. The introduction of formulas should not be in tabular form, and the numbering method needs to be corrected.

In conclusion, the paper is an interesting contribution to the field, but it requires several revisions to enhance its clarity. Moreover, the authors should provide a more detailed outline of their future research plans in this field. This will give readers a clearer understanding of the direction and potential impact of this work. In my opinion, after these improvements are made, the paper can be accept after minor revision.
