Reviewer 2 Report

I am delighted to review the article entitled "Auxin application at the flowering stage of rice alleviates the 2 negative impact of heat stress on spikelet fertility and yield at-3 tributes". Authors have performed the work on heat damage on rice and mitigation method.

However, research on heat damage of rice during the flowering period is very extensive, referring to day high temperature and night high temperature, and especially the specific grain filling stage of rice, and its physiological mechanism has been studied extensively. The innovation of this study seems to be insufficient, and the description of research method is not precise that may lead to the results lack guidance for rice production. Study content is also insufficient to explain and support the findings. Additionally, there are also some short comings throughout the manuscript which need to be corrected.  For example,

1. Introduction portion: Authors are required to clearly explain the study objectives/research questions in the introduction part. The introduction section needs to strengthen the motivation of the paper.

2. How is it better than other methods that have been used? What new/interesting results are found?

3.The study design lacks rigorous. When the high temperature treatments were started? What temperature is conducted? Rice planting time? Specific time of auxin sprayed?  And so on.  The authors should also provide the relative information.
