Reviewer 3 Report

-          Introduction: Dealing with adhesives for  dentine, some reference could be given (e.g.   Serino, G., Bignardi, C., Boccafoschi, C., Scotti, N., Berutti, E., Audenino, A.l. Collagen cross-linker effect on the mechanical properties of the radicular hybrid layer in restorative dentistry: A nanoindentation study (2019) WIT Transactions on Engineering Sciences, 124, pp. 195-203).

-          Please prepare one single table form table 1a,1b,1c,1d, where the first column reports Group number

-          ISAD would not be clear to readers not being expert in AFM,; perhaps a figure might be helpful. A definition of this sort may be clearer: “ISAD is the difference between the 3D surface area and its 2D footprint area”

-          Discussion:

o   please report a comment about using AFM rather than nano-indentation  given (e.g.   Serino, G., Bignardi, C., Boccafoschi, C., Scotti, N., Berutti, E., Audenino, A.l. Collagen cross-linker effect on the mechanical properties of the radicular hybrid layer in restorative dentistry: A nanoindentation study (2019) WIT Transactions on Engineering Sciences, 124, pp. 195-203)

o   the authors should discuss their elastic moduli versus the ones reported by other authors in literature (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/1097-4636%28200101%2954%3A1%3C87%3A%3AAID-JBM10%3E3.0.CO%3B2-Z?casa_token=8IghHTtC43AAAAAA%3AFcrPQIZTTjTipbsZYgWOU3knMnwKjGd9A5MUqr9Lrr619EIgZJ1-ms-8UTNZjLZ2jGBRxc1JHKoSYg; https://sci-hub.mksa.top/10.1016/s0039-6028(01)01311-5; https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/154405910808700414).
