The work more than fulfills what is expected in a study of these characteristics. This is an accurate study on the perceptions of schoolchildren about climate change, the sample is very large and sufficiently relevant to extract results of great interest. The methodological procedures are adequate and a detailed and precise statistical analysis is applied. The conclusions are relevant and apply to the improvement of geography teaching-learning. The limitations are coherent with the study presented and no serious writing problems are detected. 

As a minor improvement to the study (minor revissions), it is recommended that: 

1. On the one hand, in the first part of the study it would be interesting to cite some international reference, as it is done in the second part of the work (line 129 et seq.). In the case of these citations, it is recommended to open the focus and focus on general references on climate change and education where other areas of interest, such as experimental sciences, are making progress (Escrivá, Mayoral...). 

 

2. In the case of the sample, the data referring to students aged 13 are very scarce with respect to the rest (6 in total), and could be removed from the sample as they are not conclusive data if we compare them with the data of students aged 14 to 16. In addition, it is recommended to correct the erratum in line 206 referring to the sample year (it is not 2010, but 2021).

First of all, I want to congratulate the authors for the fantastic manuscript they have produced. The manuscript is of enormous interest for publication in Social Sciences. It presents an interesting study on the perception of climate change in secondary school students. Secondly, the introduction, methodology, results and discussion are very well developed, with a current bibliography that justifies the development of the work very well.

The work could be published as it is. However, I would like to make some recommendations for the authors to consider if they deem it appropriate.

As the authors have commented, education is a fundamental piece to develop adaptation strategies to climate change. But education is also very important to address a term closely linked to climate change such as Disaster Risk Reduction. If possible, I would like you to incorporate a small reflection on this term following what is included in the Sendai Framework, VI IPCC Report or Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction 2022.

I would like to encourage the authors to extend the study to other Spanish regions with a high vulnerability to climate change in future works. It may be of great interest to compare the perception of climate change of students from two different contexts and with different curricular adaptations.
