Response 1: Thank you. I have tried to add more clarity to my writing and arguments in the revised version, as you pointed out that needed improvement. I hope the paper is more coherent in its current version.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The abstract of the paper is addressed only at the very end of the paper while most of the paper is dedicated to exploring the history of Odissi. The strongest indication of the critical question is at the beginning of page 22 of the paper. The author should consider shortening the detailed history of Odissi and explain the concepts of Rashtra and the implications on the practice of the dance. The abstract indicates more focus on the politics of the dance than what we see in the paper.

Response 1: Thank you for your feedback. Based on your suggestions, I have revised my abstract and the paper. I also added a more context of the Konark dance festival and an overview of the paper at the beginning to provide clarity for the readers. I hope the current version of the paper addresses the concern you raised. Thank you again for your valuable comment.
