Arts was launched in 2012, with Dr. Michelle Facos guiding the journal’s development in her capacity as Editor-in-Chief. Earlier this year, I replaced Dr. Facos, under whose leadership Arts has become a significant venue for high-quality innovative scholarship that explores both visual and performing arts. While keeping up the high standards of scholarship that Dr. Facos established for Arts, we have expanded the journal’s scope to encompass disciplines such as film and cinema studies. Additionally, we seek to broaden the field of architecture with a greater focus on the history of the built environment.
Looking to the future, as the field of art history continues to evolve around interdisciplinary approaches, globalization, and decolonization, we aim for the Arts journal to publish innovative research that draws on the latest methodological developments in such fields.
