Overall, I am happy with the manuscript. I have found the analytical part of the science to be sound and well presented, maybe except for the Hf isotope recalculation method (using the crustal average Lu/Hf) which is not absolutely correct in my eyes. But as the methodology is well described I think we can tolerate this drawback.
I cannot properly judge the geological implications as I am far away of being familiar with and an expert in the local geology.
The English needs substantial checking. The figures and table are all needed and of sufficient quality.
I have made a number of comments directly in the text.

Dear reviewer,
First of all, I would like to thank you for your opinions, which helped me to correct many problems in my articles. In these days, I have basically completed all the modifications while reading and understanding the opinions, and adopted the revision mode so that the editing teacher and reviewers can confirm my modifications. Your suggestions to modify the Fig.2 and Fig.3 are very helpful for me, so I have made the modification according to your opinion, please confirm. After reading your suggestions about the section "5.1. Zircon U-Pb Geochronology" , I have made some modifications to this section to make it more consistent with the writing characteristics of this section. I hope to get your approval and further help. In addition, the revised draft incorporates the revision opinions of other reviewers, so there were a few more changes.
Thank you again for your correction and help.
Kind regards,

Review of the article “Geochemistry, U-Pb zircon ages and Hf isotopes of basement rocks beneath the northeastern margin of the Ordos Basin: Constraints on the Paleoproterozoic evolution of the western North China Craton”
Authors report zircon ages, Hf isotopes in zircons, and whole-rock major and trace element chemistry of drill cores of basement metamorphic rocks from the northeastern margin of the Ordos Basin. With the newly generated data set, authors propose that the boundaries of Ordos basement need to be redefined.
The article needs some revisions before final publication. Moreover, I strongly recommend a professional language editing service as the issues of sentence structure and grammar are beyond the scope of this revision.
Some suggestions are marked in the pdf. Please make necessary changes.
All the best
