Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The review of the manuscript " Temperature, Precipitation and Agro-Hydro-Meteorological Indicator based scenarios for decision making in Ogallala Aquifer Region ".Manuscript ID:water-1948123.

This study provides estimates of present and future climate change scenarios for the High Plains Aquifer, translates the temperature and precipitation changes to changes in Agro-ecosystem indicators for Kansas using scenario funnels and make recommendations for water resource and ecosystem managers to enable effective planning for future availability of ecosystem services. The results of this study showed that the use of Agro-ecosystem indicators helps for development of new varieties of crops that adapt to climate change. This is beneficial for sustainable agricultural management in the context of aquifer depletion.

In my opinion, the presented findings and conclusions, besides their scientific value, also may be useful for rational utilization of water resources. I think the manuscript deserves to be published in Water after introducing some minor corrections.

There are some minor aspects that must be addressed before publication. Please, see below the specific comments.
