Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This is an interesting manuscript that contributes to the knowledge of the Pleistocene Beringia. The material is representative and the conclusions are well substantiated.

My remarks:

1. Keywords should not repeat words from the Title

2. References are given by numbers not by authors (Zherikhin, 2002)

3. Give the authors of the names in full (not Eich.) and give the year of the description.

4. late written in small letters

5. Provide a map with regional borders and localities. For localities give coordinates.

6. Numbers from 1 to 12 are written in words in scientific texts.

7. Illustrations in the figures are indicated not by numbers, but by letters.

8. The point in the table name is not put

9. Authors of species give in full with years and not in italics

10. Some names are given with unnecessary hyphenation.

Reviewer 2 Report

My congratulations to the authors, it seems to me an original text and with very interesting results.

Reviewer 3 Report

The manuscript Wetlands in the Pleistocene Steppe-Tundra Landscapes of Beringia, their Insects, and the role of Aeolian Sedimentation by Kuzmina carried out an analysis of subfossil insect assemblages from Beringia. The data presented in the manuscript are of help for reconstructing the late Neogene and Quaternary environmental history of the research region, which is a key region for indicating long-term global climatic variability. The conclusion was clearly and convincingly drawn from a critical evaluation of existing data. Given the importance of the research topic and the amount of work carried out in this study, I suggest publication of the manuscript.
