Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

A study is presented on Terrorism, Fresh Water, Environmental Pollution: Evidence of Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Pakistan, and Libya. It is suggested to restructure your paper according to MDPI template and remove an unnecessary portion of the paper. This study does not clearly show any scientific improvements in methods or science. It is suggested to add some local literature of all countries (Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Pakistan, and Libya)or take co-authors that provide you with reliable data on target countries. Is there any specific reason to use this Panel Fourier Bootstrapping Auto Regressive Distributed Lag method? Adding a section that highlights techniques used worldwide to address the same problem and your method is suggested.

Table 1. Descriptive Statistics.

It is suggested to describe your table result.

Reviewer 2 Report

This is an interesting paper on terrorism and environmental issues in several countries mainly in the Middle East.

Here are suggestions for improvements:

- explain clearly the research question in the introduction

- what is the relevant body of literature in which this paper will sit?

- why the literature on water conflicts has not been covered?

- i would advice looking into the water during conflicts literature; how is water being used? See for instance the short letter of Hussein in Nature: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-00865-2

- See also the work of the Geneva group on this: https://www.genevawaterhub.org/resource/geneva-list-principles-protection-water-infrastructure

I hope this will be helpful in taking this forward
