Manuscript title: Mechanical and Wear Properties of Al/ TiC Composites Fabri- 2 cated Via Combined Compo-Casting and APB Process

Comments:

The manuscript is full of writing errors and written in a careless way! (wrong figures numbering,….other several errors). Below are just examples!

-          The manuscript should be thoroughly revised for grammatical errors.

-          Section 2.2, line 70; the sentence “In each test in a graphite crucible of 2kg capacity, about 1500g of AA1100 was melted” should be rewritten in an understandable way and the weight of AA1100 is better to be explained in Kg.

-          Caption of Fig. 1 should be correctly written.

-          Section 2.3, line 81, sentence “Afterward making as stir cast composites, samples..” should be rewritten.

-          Line 97 page 4, please correct the repeated words “The fabricated sample was halved into two bars

-          Page 5 line 128, “Fig. 5 shows the elongation values against the steps. As can be seen in Fig. 5,”?!!!!!! this figure is a micrograph!!

-          In page 6:Fig. 6 shows the SEM micrographs, line 135 while “Fig. 6 illustrates the toughness value of samples versus the APB steps. Matching to 142 Fig. 6, tensile toughness value drops se”

-          Unity should be considered in writing references.

The previous comments should be considered for the whole manuscript and the results part should be rearranged: microstructure, hardness followed by tensile, etc.

Reviewer 2 Report

The following parts should be modified and clarified:

1. Depict is confused with Fig.4 and Fig.5, do they indicate one figure?

2. Fig.6 shows the SEM micrographs of the agglomerations in the aluminum matrix of composite samples after eight steps of APB, you had better show the SEM micrographs of the agglomeration in the composites sample before APB, which can contrast the effect of APB.
