Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript offers valuable insights into the potential of smart manufacturing to drive high-quality development in Chinese enterprises.

The abstract needs to provide more detail on the empirical results. “This finding is robust to a set of tests” is mentioned, and the specific tests conducted to support this claim need to be summarized.

The abstract only mentions the use of a dataset from 2015 to 2022, and the methodology (details about the analytical techniques used) is not explained.

The introduction needs to clarify the gap in the existing literature that this study aims to fill.

Recommendations could be prioritized based on potential impact or feasibility, or categorized into short-term and long-term.
