Promoting Sustainable Safety Work Environments: Factors Affecting Korean Workers’ Recognition of Their Right to Refuse Dangerous Work
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Comments and Suggestions for Authors- In line 22 the abstract could present the main finding with numerical values preferably.
- Tables 3 to 6. The variable codification as A,B,C... is a good option to indicate comparisons or flow diagrams, nevertheless, could be a better option in these tables to use an identifying word to identify the variable instead of the variable code to make easy the readers understanding.
-The conclusion should be presented in detail making reference to the results to support them (numerically).
- Lines 422-424 Limitations were presented in the previous section these lines should be there together
- Author Contributions: This section should be presented according to the journal template.

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsComment on Sustainability
1. You should follow the traditional format in drafting your manuscript.
Theoretical part
2. Introduction. After indicating the importance of the research theme, the right to refuse work, you can go to the literature and inform readers about the progress in this area of research, such as its antecedents and outcome. Then, point out limitations, and weaknesses and propose your research objectives to illustrate how you will address these research problems. On page 2, “there is a lack of research on the interactions or relative significance of these factors, which presents challenges in proposing practical solutions.” These is no interactions among variables in your study. You also need to justify why these factors are selected in your study. Most of these factors do not seem to be logically associated with the right to refuse work. For example, why are safety and health education and training positively or negatively related to the right to refuse work? Finally, articulate your research contributions.
3. I would suggest safety performance as the outcome variable, and management commitment, communication, education and training, and safety regulations and procedures as its predictors. Right to refuse work may moderate the relationships between these predictors and safety performance.
4. The literature review part should be revised. In the part, make hypotheses and provide arguments for these hypotheses. Briefly introducing some variables does not constitute the part of Literature Review and Hypotheses.
Empirical part
5. Method. Method part consists of (1) Sample and Data collection, (2) Measure, and (3) Data analysis technique. Revise the part and delete Figure 1 and Figure 2.
6. Results. The part consists of (1) comparison of measurement models using CFA (to demonstrate the distinctiveness of variables in the study), (2) mean, SD and correlations among variables in the study, (3) path analysis results.
7. Please refer to published papers to make your report in a succinct manner.
8. Testing moderating effect could attenuate the concern of common method variance. Thus, revising your model and examining the boundary conditions for the variable relationships could make your research more interesting.
Discussion part
9. Summarize your research findings.
10. Offer theoretical and practical implications.

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThe paper is about Promoting Sustainable Safety Work Environments.
This manuscript needs a lot of improvement. Some suggestions, the authors should consider improving the quality of manuscript:
Abstract:
Follow the basic pattern of template of abstract formation….as:
We strongly encourage authors to use the following style of structured abstracts, but without headings: (1) Background: Place the question addressed in a broad context and highlight the purpose of the study; (2) Methods: Describe briefly the main methods or treatments applied; (3) Results: Summarize the article's main findings; and (4) Conclusions: Indicate the main conclusions or interpretations. (5) Add something about the benefits results of the research. ……also give quantitative results in the abstract.
[Please revise-according to point 4 and 5 Conclusion and benefits]
1. Introduction and 2. Literature Review:
-Extend Literature review…References should be more than 60. [Please add-latest..2022,2023,2024]
Line 52----This right to refuse work serves as a critical measure to prevent accidents or injuries and protect workers' lives and health by enabling them to immediately halt work when their safety is compromised. It contributes to the overall reduction of industrial accidents [5-12]
….…Elaborate and show contribution of each reference.
Line 88----Additionally, workers often have limited awareness of their right to refuse work, management may fail to uphold or guarantee this right, and there is a lack of effective communication between managers and workers [7-14].
….…Elaborate and show contribution of each reference.
-Can you please establish the research gap [Please add]
Please Add Tables along with citation in the manuscript
(a) Previously used Variables (b) New Variables to be studied (c) Previously asked Questions (d) Previously used techniques for similar type of research…(V. imp)
-Establish your research questions in this section.
-So, establish a research gap and connect your research methodology, data analysis, results with that research gap and produce a discussion on future directions.
3. Methods and Data…….Use formal wording for this heading
-. This portion should also be written in step wise pattern so that readers can understand the procedure for implementation purpose. [Please add]
-Elaborate Formation of Questionnaire..
Discussion.
This section must contain implications for research, practice and/or Field: Does the paper identify clearly any implications for research, practice and/or society? Does the paper bridge the gap between theory and practice? How can the research be used in practice (economic and commercial impact), to influence technical policy, in research (contributing to the body of knowledge)? Add something for field professionals. [Please add]
Limitations of the study:
Please add as heading about the limitations of the study.
