Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This article is on a very important topic and I commend the work, my issue is with the presentation. I think it can be cleaned up and become an excellent piece of research. I found it very hard to follow, the long listing of variables that were repeated was cumbersome. Also the way you presented findings felt repetitive. You listed many quotes then more traditionally explained the data repeating quotes and offering new data. This was not clear. I would also like more info on the Quebec study and where the arrows came from - are they yours? Or from the original study. More clear explanation of how this model was derived and how your research supports and expands it would be helpful.

Comments on the Quality of English Language

A bit repetitive and had some typos. Otherwise you are dealing with rather technical concepts I thought were clear if the concepts and lists get cleaned up,

Review of the article sustainability-2952541-peer-review-v1

The article is devoted to the now urgent problem of creating conditions favorable for the elderly. In 1999, 2005, 2015, etc., the World Health Organization clarified the framework of the concepts of "active city" and "city favorable for older people" — a developing urban environment focused on active older people who have the opportunity to continue to participate in cultural, leisure, social, economic, political and civic fields. In China, 19% of the population is over 60 years old and is increasing by 1.78% every year. But 38.6% are residents of rural areas and they also require attention. A survey was conducted in rural Shanghai using focus groups. Various aspects of the needs of rural elderly people have been identified. The correct conclusions have been drawn that the approach should be individual. Take into account the physical and psychological characteristics of rural life.

The article presents 7 figures, 2 tables and 73 references to literature.

The literary review is complete, all references are given in the text.

The materials and techniques are well and thoroughly described. The stated goals have been achieved.

The article can be printed after making minor corrections:

1. The article provides data in rural Shanghai for 2021. Of course, it doesn't matter in principle, but maybe you have more recent data.

2. The Fogg Behavior Model suggests that for a behavior to occur, three elements must converge simultaneously: Motivation, Ability, and Prompt (formerly known as Trigger). I would like you to say a few words on each of these three points.

3. Line 63, 64 et al. - separate the text and square brackets with a space [3, 4].

4. Fig. 1 – enlarge the fine print.

5. Fig. 3 is superfluous, you can combine Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 in one.

6. Fig. 4 - Bus stop, Police station, Public toilet make different colors on the map.

7. Fig. 7 – enlarge the fine print.

8. Line 269 Correct "3 Methodology" - "3. Methodology"
