Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In that study, there are no papers about financial liquidity management, working capital, about current assets management. I feel that you should think about the inclusion of that papers because your results shall be much more close to the truth

Reviewer 2 Report

A well-documented work from a statistical point of view.

The applicative part of the paper presents a low degree of involvement based only on the extrapolation of some statistics.

The bibliography of the paper can also be improved.

I recommend for the applicative part the empirical testing of an econometric model.

Reviewer 3 Report

This research article addresses a questions about the research advances made in the field of financial inclusion and the main lines of investigation currently being addressed, by means of a bibliometric analysis.
This research paper is structured as a bibliometric analysis, a study method consisting of identifying, organising and analysing the main components of a given research field. The research method adopted is appropriate to the objective set. But it needs to be detailed as to what criteria were actually specified for the selection of articles.
Also, it is unclear what the main hypotheses of the paper are. It is, however, unclear why it is important, in this particular setting, to consider the study and how the study fulfill the research gap in literature.

The most important question that remains to be asked is: “What do we
learn from this paper that we have not known before?” In my opinion,
this paper does not sufficiently address this question.

New Research Findings on Financial Inclusion: A Bibliometric Analysis

Summary

The paper explores the research in the field of financial inclusion by employing the bibliometric analysis and find that the most active author in this area is Asongu, Enterprise Development and Microfinance is the journal that  has published most articles in this field, Makerere University from Uganda is the most productive institution, and India is the country where most recent studies have taken place. The topic is very interesting and the authors have done a great job, however there are some points that could be addressed in more detail. More specifically:

  1. A potential channel that could affect financial inclusion and access to finance is a country’s governance. Add some discussions and references on this topic.

  1. The reference on the software used (line 159) is irrelevant; it could be cut out.

  1. Add more description below tables, and comment more tables and graphs.

  1. The graphs are of poor quality, especially those of network analysis.

  1. Although well written, the paper need professional editing.

Reviewer 2 Report

I appreciate the completions made in the content of the article even if they have not reached econometric studies, there are equity validations of the practical component.

I also appreciate the completion of the bibliography by including other conclusive bibliographic benchmarks for the theme treated in the article.

Therefore, I can finally recommend publishing the article in this form.

Reviewer 3 Report

Dear Authors,

Thanks for correcting the article. As it is, it fills a gap in the literature on the subject. The literature was correctly selected and up-to-date, the research method adequately described.
