Reviewer 2 Report

This article is based on previous studies and the purpose of this study is to analyze how religion, ethnic group and race influence the probability of becoming a cyber victim or cyberbullying in intercultural educational settings. The study was carried out in an area of Spain with very specific socio-demographic characteristics.
The argument of the article has an adequate theoretical and conceptual basis.

The investigated topic is of interest to the scientific community. The research has been properly designed and the methods are appropriate. The authors are congratulated for choosing an interesting topic for the educational context.

Based on the above, I would like to make a general assessment of the proposal (relevance, structure, method, discussion, strengths and weaknesses, etc.)

The article presents a good theoretical foundation. Define the research hypothesis appropriately.
The research methodology is well founded, and the chosen test is appropriate for the study. The results are presented appropriately. These are interesting data to provide scientific evidence to aspects that are occurring in Secondary Education centers.

Therefore, we can say that they address the investigated topic correctly and subsequently guide the presentation of the conclusions.

Reviewer 3 Report

I appreciate the work presented and the research topic would be of interest to many readers. The problem of cyberbully require attention from the researcher, and many other parties. The work presented in the paper covers some good aspect of the problem in a specific region. The methodology is find and the data sample is satisfactory. There are some issues I found with the paper and I would like to invite the authors to revise their proposed work.

Firstly, there are many linguistic errors (e.g., grammar and spelling) and the writing style is quite informal. It feel as though the paper is written in a rush.

The introduction section covers a good deal of the literature. This section should be revisited to focus on the introduction of the problem, outlining the proposed methodology, evaluation and result found instead of the literature review. The introduction should end with an outline of the paper's organisation to state which of subsequent sections deal with different aspects of the research.

The covered literature review doesn't show the differences between this work and previous ones. This makes the proposed paper lack novelty and originality.

The contribution of the paper to knowledge is unclear. Although this could be the first attempt at understanding cyberbully in southern Spain, the methodology doesn't offer any new technique or use of new variables that have not been used by other authors. It would be good to show some differences between the proposed work and other work to help use increase our understanding about the problem, e.g., if non ethnic minority suffered cyberbully, is it the same proportion as ethnic minority?

The research questions/hypotheses are not defined clearly.

The methodology currently considers the entire data across all of Andalusia... To add rigor to the work it would be good to apply the same analyses to each province individually and show if the result, rate of cyberbully (e.g., certain ethnicity is more likely to suffer cyberbully than others) is consistent between different provinces?

Firstly, there are many linguistic errors (e.g., grammar and spelling) and the writing style is quite informal. It feel as though the paper is written in a rush.

AUTHOR RESPONSE

Although, the writing of the paper has been done carefully and already had a thorough review by a native. After the indications of the reviewer 3, the work has been sent to the MDPI editing service.

COMMENT 2

The introduction section covers a good deal of the literature. This section should be revisited to focus on the introduction of the problem, outlining the proposed methodology, evaluation and result found instead of the literature review. The introduction should end with an outline of the paper's organization to state which of subsequent sections deal with different aspects of the research.

AUTHOR RESPONSE

A new "introduction" section has been added specifying the problem, the proposed methodology, the evaluation and the results of the research. This section ends with an outline of the subsequent sections of the document.

In addition, the old "introduction" section has been called "literature review".

COMMENT 3

The covered literature review doesn't show the differences between this work and previous ones. This makes the proposed paper lack novelty and originality.

AUTHOR RESPONSE

In the section reviewing the literature, a paragraph is included indicating the main differences between this work and the previous ones.

COMMENT 4

The contribution of the paper to knowledge is unclear. Although this could be the first attempt at understanding cyberbully in southern Spain, the methodology doesn't offer any new technique or use of new variables that have not been used by other authors. It would be good to show some differences between the proposed work and other work to help use increase our understanding about the problem, e.g., if non ethnic minority suffered cyberbully, is it the same proportion as ethnic minority?

AUTHOR RESPONSE

Taking into account comment 3, in the section on literature review, it has been precisely indicated that the value and novelty of this research is the use, for the first time, of variables that measure cyberbullying promoted by racial, ethnic and religious intolerance. This motivation for cyberbullying is not taken into account in previous studies. They evaluate the constructor without taking into account the peculiarities of the intercultural context in its variables.

As for the question that the reviewer sets out as an example in this commentary, a paragraph has been included that goes from the line 150 to the line 153 in which an answer is given. In order to help know the understanding of the problem

COMMENT 5

The research questions/hypotheses are not defined clearly.

AUTHOR RESPONSE

The research hypotheses have been redefined (line 155 to 158).

COMMENT 6

The methodology currently considers the entire data across all of Andalusia... To add rigor to the work it would be good to apply the same analyses to each province individually and show if the result, rate of cyberbully (e.g., certain ethnicity is more likely to suffer cyberbully than others) is consistent between different provinces?

AUTHOR RESPONSE

Taking into account the reviewer's consideration, the same analyses have been applied to each of the 10 selected provinces. The results show the rate of cyberbullying (cybervictim and cyberbullyr) in each of the provinces (Table 6, 7 y 8).

Round 2
