A programming error in our simulation model resulted in the overestimation of three input mass streams, inducing follow-up errors in the mass and energy balance calculations as well as the economic assessment, so that the results presented in the manuscript [1] required substantial revisions. While main conclusions with regard to end-product competitiveness on the energy market have not basically changed, most of the intermediate results and presented end-product market prices had to be revised.
To safeguard good scientific practice, we decided to retract the original paper [1] and re-publish an updated and corrected manuscript version as [2].
We apologize for any inconvenience caused to the readers.
